Title: Doubtful Pregnancy (sequel to
A Couple and a Jealous Guy)
Pairing: Eunhae, mentioned Kangteuk and Hanchul
Word Count: 4384
Summary: A few months later, Hae finds out she’s pregnant due to their reckless lovemaking. The "craziness" that follows her discovery…
“I don’t feel so good.”
“Are you alright, Hae?” Sungmin came over and placed her arm around Donghae. Donghae felt like she was going to be sick.
“You don’t look so good. Let’s go to the bathroom.” Ryeowook and Sungmin followed Donghae to the bathroom where she proceeded to throw up.
When she was done, Sungmin took a wet towel and started to wipe her face.
“Hae, I have a serious question for you.” Donghae looked towards Ryeowook. “Are you pregnant?”
Donghae froze at the question. Pregnant? How could she be pregnant? Didn’t…oh…oh no…
Donghae turned her wide eyes towards Sungmin and Ryeowook. “We need to go. Now.” Sungmin and Ryeowook didn’t question her. The three of them quickly left school for home. On the way, they stopped to go buy a pregnancy test for Donghae (they bought 3 of them).
@@@@@
“Alright Hae, you ready?” She nodded. Sungmin and Ryeowook watched as Donghae went into the bathroom to look at the stick. They had waited for 3 minutes, which to them, felt like an eternity. Sungmin and Ryeowook were nervously waiting for the results.
“Hae? What is it? Is it -“
Donghae came out of the bathroom, her face expressionless. She looked towards Sungmin and Ryeowook before breaking out into a smile. “I’m pregnant!”
Ryeowook instantly fainted.
@@@@@
“Hae, do you understand what’s going to happen now that you’re pregnant? So many things are going to change.”
“I know.” Donghae, Sungmin, and Ryeowook were all in Donghae’s room. Donghae was resting on her bed and Sungmin was on the floor while Ryeowook was pacing around.
“You’re going to have a lot of responsibilities.”
“I know.”
“Have you thought about how this will affect school?”
“We’ll worry about that when the time comes.”
“Do you have any idea how you’re going to take care of it? Are you even prepared to?”
“I will be. I have 8 months to be prepared.”
Ryeowook sighed. “Hae, do you know what this will do to your reputation once people find out?”
Donghae thought for a moment. “Yes but that doesn’t matter as long as I have Hyukkie with me to go through all this or you two. I know I can’t do this without the support of my loved ones.” She smiled at them. Sungmin smiled back but Ryeowook still had a serious expression on her face.
“How are you going to tell Hyukkie?”
“Uh…I was hoping you guys could help me? or I could just hide it from him for a bit.”
“HAE! THERE’S NO WAY YOU CAN HIDE IT FROM HIM. IN A FEW MONTHS YOU’LL BE SHOWING!”
Sungmin stood up and placed an arm around Ryeowook. “Calm down, Wookie. Don’t get so worked up. That’s not going to help in the long run. Just calm down. Take a deep breath. That’s it.” She smiled at Ryeowook then turned to look at Donghae. “Hae, be serious here. There’s no way you can hide it from him. And you shouldn’t hide it from him. That would completely break your relationship.”
“And you think this won’t?” Donghae’s façade of calmness started to crack. Tears came to her eyes. “I’m so afraid of what he’ll say when he finds out. I don’t want to lose him but I’m so afraid. What if he doesn’t want it or me anymore? What am I going to do if he throws me away just because I’m pregnant?” The tears flowed freely from her eyes now. Sungmin and Ryeowook immediately came over and wrapped their arms around Hae in comfort.
“Shh, shh it’s alright. Don’t worry. Eunhyuk is a good guy. He won’t just abandon you and the baby. You have nothing to worry about.” Sungmin looked over Donghae’s head at Ryeowook, hoping she was right.
@@@@@
Eunhyuk went to Donghae’s place right after school. He was worried about her. It wasn’t like her to skip school. He worried even more when he learned that Sungmin and Ryeowook were missing.
He knocked on the door, hoping someone would answer. After a minute or two, Sungmin opened the door.
“Oh hi Hyukkie. What brings you here?” Eunhyuk stepped past Sungmin and raced to Donghae’s room. Ryeowook stopped him at the doorway.
“Shh, be quiet. Hae’s sleeping.” Eunhyuk looked at Ryeowook to the closed door and back. Ryeowook smiled and led Eunhyuk back out to the living room.
The three of them sat down on the couch and chairs.
“Is Hae okay? She skipped school.”
“Hae’s fine. She just had an upset stomach.”
“Oh, alright. Thank you for taking care of her. I wish I had been there for her.”
“Hyukkie, it was just an upset stomach. It’s not that serious.”
“I-I-I know, it’s just that I love Hae so much. I worry for her whenever I’m not near her or can’t see her.” Eunhyuk placed his head in his hands. “It’s like if anything happens to her, I don’t know what I’ll do. I don’t ever want to lose her. She means the world to me.”
Ryeowook and Sungmin exchanged glances. Maybe things might be okay for Hae if she told Hyukkie now.
“Uh…do you want to go in and see her, Hyukkie? She’s resting but it might be okay for you to go in and just sit by her bed.”
Eunhyuk looked at Sungmin and Ryeowook with such hope and happiness on his face. “Really? Thanks. I won’t disturb her.”
Eunhyuk walked to Donghae’s room and quietly slipped inside. He moved her desk chair over to the side of her bed. He looked at Donghae sleeping peacefully in her bed. She looked so sweet and adorable. Her hair was in her face. Eunhyuk brushed it away. Donghae mumbled something. Eunhyuk smiled. That was so cute.
“H-h-hyukkie…baby…g-g-going…to…have…”
Eunhyuk froze. Did she say what I think she said? Eunhyuk looked down at Donghae. No, there’s no way. That’s not possible.
Donghae stirred as she felt someone looking at her. She opened her eyes to see Eunhyuk looking down at her. She smiled sleepily at him.
“Hi, Hyukkie. What are you doing?”
Eunhyuk tried to collect his thoughts. “I-I-I was worried about you. You skipped school.”
“Oh, oh yeah…well I’m fine as you can see.” Donghae curled her legs up to her chest. “Well actually, I have something to tell you. I-I-I’m pregnant.” Donghae buried her head between her chest and legs. Eunhyuk just stared at her, his brain trying to process the fact that Donghae was pregnant.
Donghae was pregnant…with his child. Donghae, his girlfriend, was pregnant…with his child. Donghae, the girl he loved, was pregnant with his child. He and Donghae were going to have a baby. They were going to have a baby. A little baby that would be part his and part Donghae.
Eunhyuk smiled at the thought of a little baby running around that was a part of him and a part of Donghae. Now they’ll have something physical to represent their love. Eunhyuk got up and wrapped his arms around Donghae.
Donghae jumped a little when she felt arms come around her. She didn’t think Eunhyuk would take the news that well. She tentatively wrapped her arms around Eunhyuk.
Eunhyuk pulled back to look at Donghae. He wiped a tear that had fallen unknown to Donghae. He gently kissed her.
“It’s alright Hae. You don’t have to worry about a thing. We’re in this together.”
“You’re-you’re not upset or anything? You’re not going to leave me later?”
Eunhyuk looked down at Donghae. “Leave you? Why would I ever leave you? I love you too much. I could never leave you. Just the thought of leaving you pains my heart.”
Donghae snuggled into him. She felt happy from his statement.
Sungmin and Ryeowook looked at the couple on the bed and smiled. Everything was going to be alright.

4 months later…
Donghae was beginning to show but she was able to hide any signs of her pregnancy with large sweatshirts. Luckily no one seemed to notice the change in Donghae.
Her stomach grew with each passing day but on the flip side, she began to tire more. Her energy was slowly depleting. Bags were slowly forming under her eyes.
Eunhyuk, Sungmin, and Ryeowook all kept an eye out for Donghae. They didn’t want anything to happen to her. At the same time, they were worried about news spreading. They were afraid of the consequences that would come if people knew Donghae was pregnant.
Donghae was wandering around her house, doing whatever chores she was still able to do with a bump in her way. Once she did the best job she could, she went to the couch and sat with her feet up. She started to muse about the last few months.
I don’t know why but it feels like Eunhyuk is getting more distant and distant. Is he really happy about the baby? I mean when I told him, he seemed happy enough at least I think so. He told me he would never leave me and that we were in this together. But for the last few months, he seems distant. He still comes around and helps whenever he can. He’s still a complete gentleman to me but I feel like there’s a distance.
Tears came to Donghae’s eyes.
I bet he regrets it now. He’s probably filled with doubts and regrets now. I knew it. He’s-he’s-he’s going to cast me aside. It’s easy to now that I’m pregnant. I bet he doesn’t want me anymore. He’s tired to me. He thinks I’m a hassle. I’m too much trouble for him. He told me he didn’t regret making love to me that first time but I bet he was lying. He-he-he doesn’t want me anymore. He doesn’t want me or the baby.
Donghae broke down crying.
@@@@@
Siwon came through the door to find Donghae collapsed on the floor. He immediately rushed over to check and see if she was still okay. He found a pulse but Donghae looked really pale. He rushed her to the nearest hospital.
It was a few minutes before the doctor let Siwon into the room.
“She’s alright. Nothing too critical. Seems like she has a lot of stress and not enough sleep. She was also dehydrated. But she’ll be fine as long as she rests. Oh and the baby is perfectly healthy as well.”
Siwon kept his expression neutral but inside his mind was wandering. Baby? Donghae’s pregnant? When? Why didn’t she tell me?
Siwon walked into the room to find Donghae lying on the bed. He sat by her bed and looked at her. He noticed the bump. How was she able to keep that hidden from me all this time?
@@@@@
Donghae woke up to find herself not in her living room. She looked at the white walls around her and the hospital equipment in the corner. Then she saw Siwon sleeping by her bedside. She gently shook him awake.
Siwon woke with a start. He looked up to see Donghae looking at him.
“Hae, are you alright? You scared me so much. I got home and saw you collapsed on the floor.”
“Uh…yeah I’m alright now…I’m feeling so much better.” The two lapsed into an awkward silence.
“So are you going to tell me about the baby?”
“You know?”
Siwon looked down and blushed. “Uh…yeah…the doctor told me. Besides that bump is hard to miss.”
Donghae looked down to see her bump visible under the thin hospital sheets. She blushed. “Oh well about that…”
“How long?”
“Uh…about 5 months now…”
“5 months?!?!?! And you never told me?!?!” Siwon got up and started pacing around to get his anger out. “We’re cousins. We live together.”
Donghae felt scared. Siwon rarely let his temper show. “I’m-I’m sorry, Siwon but I wanted to keep it a secret from everyone. I didn’t want anyone judging me.”
Siwon’s expression softened. He sat on the side of the bed and placed an arm around her shoulders. “Who’s the father?”
“Eunhyuk.”
“Have you told him?”
“Yes. He, Sungmin, and Ryeowook are the only ones that know.” Tears came to Donghae’s eyes. “Siwon, can I ask for your help?”
“Sure, Hae, whatever you need I’m here for you.”
Donghae sniffled. “Do you know some place I can stay for the next few months?”
“Why? Do you not like our place now?”
“No. It’s just that I want to leave. Do you have any friends out in the country I can stay with? That won’t have any connection to a phone or computer?”
“Uh…” Siwon was at a loss for words. “Well I don’t know about not having any connections to a phone or computer but I have a couple friends you might be able to stay with. I can arrange for you to go live there in a few months -“
“NO!” Siwon was startled by Donghae’s outburst. “Uh…do you think it’s possible if you can ask if I can live with them now? Like I could go out there this weekend and just live there for the next few months? Probably another month or so after the baby’s born.”
“Uh…sure…if that’s what you want but what about Eunhyuk?” The tears that had subsided had now come back and threatened to spill over.
“It’s-it’s-it’s okay. It doesn’t matter. He-he won’t care.”
“Are you sure? ‘cause I thought he would care if his pregnant girlfriend was going to leave town.” The tears in Donghae’s eyes spilled over at Siwon’s statement. Siwon was shocked and instantly tried to comfort her. “Shh, shh, it’s okay. Tell me what’s wrong.”
“He-he-he-he doesn’t want me anymore. He doesn’t want the baby or me. He doesn’t love me anymore.”
Donghae cried into Siwon’s chest. “Alright, alright, just calm down. If you want, I’ll arrange everything and you can leave tomorrow after you’re discharged from the hospital.”
“Th-th-thank you Siwon. Just…before I go, let Sungmin and Ryeowook know I’m alright and that I went away for health purposes or something like that. I don’t want them to worry about me. And whatever you do, don’t tell Eunhyuk what happened to me. Make Sungmin and Ryeowook swear to confidentiality if you decide to tell them more than what I’ve told you to tell them. Please promise me that.”
Siwon looked down at Donghae. She looked so sad and tired. He couldn’t refuse her even if he tried. “I promise.”
@@@@@
Donghae rested in the backseat of the car while Siwon drove. They had been driving for about an hour. Siwon had arranged everything while Donghae rested in the hospital. His friends had said it was okay for Donghae to stay with them especially when Siwon explained a bit about the situation. He left messages for Sungmin and Ryeowook and rented a car to take them to his friends’ place.
Donghae woke up when she no longer felt the car moving. She looked up to see a wide green field and a nice two-story house. She got out of the car with a little help from Siwon. She took a deep breath and smiled. There was nothing like fresh air.
“Hello. Oh Siwon, you look more handsome since the last time I saw you.” Siwon stood up and accepted the hug. Donghae watched the easy affection between the two. “And this must be Donghae.” Bright shining eyes surveyed the pregnant girl. A smile broke out on her face. “You look more beautiful than Siwon described. Come, come. Let’s get you inside. I’ll show you your room and you can meet the rest of the family.” She took Donghae’s hand and led her inside the house, leaving Siwon to bring in Donghae’s bags.
Donghae was led in to the living room.
“You just take a seat and rest your feet. I bet you’re tired after traveling for so long. Heechul, can you make some tea for us?”
“Go make it yourself if you want it.” Heechul came into the room.
“Fine. If you want to be that way, Heechul.”
Heechul smiled. “Of course, Teukie. You know I love to be difficult.”
Teukie smiled. “Of course of course. Is there anything you want me to get you, princess while you entertain our guest?”
“No I’m alright. But if you could send Hannie in, that would be great sis.”
“Alright. If I see him, I’ll tell him you want him.”
“Damn right I want him. I always want him.” Heechul laughed. Teukie laughed as well as she went into the kitchen to make tea. Heechul turned to see Donghae sitting on the couch.
“Well look at you. Didn’t think you’d be that pregnant. How long has it been?”
“Uh…about 5 months.”
“Hmm…and how long will you be staying with us?”
“Uh I think about 5 months or so. I want to stay here until after the baby’s born. Then we’ll see how it goes from there.”
“Hmm…alright. Seems like you got a good head on your shoulders despite the fact that you’re pregnant.”
Donghae gaped. No one ever talked to her like that, so upfront and blunt. She really said whatever she wanted. “Uh…thank you…I think.”
“So tell me why you wanted to come out here.”
“Well I wanted to get away from the city and avoid any possible discomfort my situation would have presented. I can’t hide my belly forever; it was only a matter of time before I had to go. I just thought it would be better if I left on my own beforehand. Let’s me feel like I’m in control.”
“Alright, so what about the father? Does he know?”
Donghae choked on her spit. “Uh…well…not exactly…”
“And why not?”
“Heechul, stop grilling the poor girl. She’ll tell us when she’s ready to. Here you go dear. It’ll make you feel better.” Teukie smiled at her, showing off her dimple.
“Uh…thank you…uh Teukie-sshi?”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I never introduced myself. My name is Leeteuk but you may call me Teukie if you’d like. This is my twin Heechul. We live in this house by ourselves.” A noise like something falling over was heard from upstairs. “Oh and our boyfriends Kangin and Hankyung. Don’t worry, they’re very nice guys. You’ll meet them later. Probably at dinner.” Leeteuk smiled.
Donghae smiled back. “Thank you so much for letting me stay here. I’m sorry it was last minute…”
“Oh no, it’s alright. When Siwon explained your situation, we were only too happy to let you come here. Don’t you worry. We’ll watch over you and your baby. We’ll help you out in any way we can.”
Donghae smiled. “Thank you so very much. You have no idea how grateful I am.”
“Don’t worry about it. Now why don’t we take you to your room and you can go rest? We’ll call you later for dinner.”
@@@@@
The next 3 months were the best times for Donghae. She completely relaxed; all her stress was gone. Leeteuk and Heechul were so helpful in taking care of her and the baby. She’d gotten more rest in the last 3 months than the last year.
She was now in the last month of her term. Donghae was smiling and sitting out in the yard, enjoying nature. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, she felt a pang, the bees were buzzing, another pang. OMG!
“Leeteuk? Heechul? I-I-I think I’m going into labor.” Leeteuk and Heechul rushed out of the house towards Donghae.
“How far apart are the contractions?”
“I don’t know but they don’t seem to far apart.” Donghae let out a deep breath as another contraction hit.
“Alright. Heechul, go get the guys. Have Kangin bring the car around and hurry. We need to take Donghae to the hospital.”
It all happened in a blur. Donghae was taken to the hospital in record time. She got into the delivery room almost as soon as she got to the hospital. Now all that was left was to have the child.
The contractions were coming closer and harder now. It was only a matter of time.
“T-T-Teukie, how much longer? I’m so tired.” Leeteuk wiped the sweat off Donghae’s forehead.
“Just a little more, Hae. Hang in there. It’s almost time.”
“I don’t want to do this anymore, Leeteuk. I’m so tired. I can’t - I can’t do this.”
“Yes you can, Hae. Come on. Stay with me.”
Donghae was too tired. She just wanted to get this over with. “Oh, oh, oh, Leeteuk, it’s-it’s coming.”
“Not yet, Hae. Not yet. You can’t push yet. Just breathe through it. Come on, just breathe.” Donghae copied Leeteuk’s breathing. Soon the contraction passed over. Leeteuk wiped the sweat off her forehead.
“How much longer, Leeteuk? I’m so tired.”
“Just a little more. Just hang in there, Hae. You’ll be alright. Just think. In a few minutes, your child will be here. You beautiful beautiful child.”
Tears came to Donghae’s eyes. “I-I-I wish Eunhyuk was here. It feels wrong to have this baby when he’s not even here. I-I-I-“ Donghae started to sob. Leeteuk rubbed her back soothingly.
No one noticed when the delivery door opened and another figure came in. He saw Donghae crying and instantly went to her side to comfort her.
“Shh, shhh, it’s alright, Hae. It’s alright. Don’t cry. Everything will be alright.” Eunhyuk rubbed his hand in comforting circles on Donghae’s back. Her tears began to subside as she felt her next contraction coming.
“Alright Hae. This is it. You’re going to have to push. Can you push for me?” Donghae weakly nodded her head. “Alright. Ready? Push!”
Donghae used all her strength and pushed. The baby slid out smoothly and let out a loud cry. The doctor cleaned her up before bundling her up and placing her in Donghae’s arms.
Donghae smiled down at the bundle in her arms. She didn’t realize she was crying until a hand reached up to wipe her tears away. Donghae turned tear-drenched eyes up to see Eunhyuk standing beside her. Now her tears flowed freely.
“Eun-Eunhyuk? What-what are you doing here?”
“Did you think I’d miss the birth of our child?” Eunhyuk smile and looked down at the baby in Donghae’s arms. “She’s so beautiful. She looks just like you.” He placed a kiss on Donghae’s forehead. He wrapped his arm around her and sat down next to her. Donghae laid her head on his shoulder and looked down at her new child, her daughter. She hadn’t felt so content since the last time she’d been in Eunhyuk’s arms.
“So what do you want to name her?”
“Hmm…I don’t know. I want a name that will suit her but also show she’s a part of us.”
“Then name her Eunhae. It’s your names combined.”
Donghae turned towards the doorway and gasped. Sungmin and Ryeowook were standing there in the doorway. They smile and walked into the room. Eunhyuk moved aside so they could give Donghae a hug and look at their daughter.
“She’s so beautiful.”
“She looks just like you, Hae. So she’s going to be a stunner when she grows up. You’re going to have to beat back those boys when she’s older, Eunhyuk.”
Eunhyuk grimaced. “Can we not talk about that right now? I don’t want to think about my little girl dating. She was just born an hour ago.”
Sungmin and Ryeowook chuckled. “So how have you been, Donghae? Why’d you leave so abruptly?”
“Oh well uh…about that…I-I-I-“
Eunhyuk caught Donghae’s expression. “Uh, can you two excuse us for a moment? I’d like a word with Donghae…alone.”
“Alright.” Sungmin and Ryeowook quickly and quietly left the two alone. Once the door was shut, Eunhyuk turned around to Donghae. She gasped as she caught a glimpse of his face. It was full of anger and sadness.
“Why did you leave me, Hae? Hmm? Give me a real answer. No excuses. Now tell me why you left without a word.”
“I-I-I left because-because-because you were getting tired of me. You didn’t want me anymore. Not me and not the baby. So I decided to leave. I had nothing left when you left me.”
“Leave you? Why would I ever leave you? You’re the woman I love. You were also carrying my child. Get tired of you? How could I ever get tired of you? You brighten up my day. Do you know how hard the last 4 months have been?” Eunhyuk sat down and hung his head. Donghae could see the strain and worry on his face.
“Not knowing where you were or how you were. Didn’t I tell you before that just the thought of leaving you pains my heart? Do you know how much I suffered while you were gone? I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t function normally. How could I when my heart was gone?”
Tears came to his and her eyes. “Everyday I wished you would come back to me. If not, at least some kind of word from you.”
Eunhyuk stood up and made his way over to Donghae. He cupped her cheek and tilted her face up to his. “Can’t you see how much I love you? Please don’t ever leave me again. Next time you do, I might just die.” Eunhyuk looked down at her and place a light kiss on her lips. “How long can a man survive without his heart? I love you, Lee Donghae. Don’t ever leave me again.”
Tears fell from Donghae’s eyes. “I-I-I won’t. I promise.”
Donghae stared deeply into Eunhyuk’s eyes. “I love you, Lee Eunhyuk.”
Eunhyuk smiled and kissed Donghae the way he wanted to for the last 4 months. Donghae kissed back with as much fervor. It had been forever since she last tasted anything as sweet as Eunhyuk’s kisses. Oh how she had missed him.
When they pulled away, they were gasping for breath but smiling.
“Oh before I forget.” Eunhyuk stepped away and got down on one knee. Donghae watched, shocked, as Eunhyuk pulled out a velvet box from his pocket and flipped it open. “Lee Donghae, will you marry me?”
Tears came to Donghae’s eyes again and fell. She smiled. “Yes. Yes I will marry you.”
Eunhyuk smiled and placed the ring on her finger before kissing her breathless.
Sungmin and Ryeowook watched through the window and smile. Finally, a happily ever after…
A/N: sorry about the ending…but I didn’t want to drag this out anymore. Earlier I felt like I was rushing it but now I feel like I might be dragging it out… Well I hope you all like the sequel, I kept changing the storyline as I wrote this XD and somehow this became longer than the prequel
