The receptionist checked the schedule and waved over a young woman with long light brown hair. With a friendly smile, she introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Shizuru. If you could come with me?" Seeing a man in the salon was a little bit of a novelty; they did get a few, but the salon population was heavily estrogen-dominated. Probably a good thing, too, considering Shizuru's typical mannerisms around males. She was just nicer to women, for the most part.

"What were you looking to have done?" she asked. "Just a trim, or did you want it shorter?" The long hair suited him, so she rather hoped he would choose the former option. Shizuru gestured Shannon toward a chair by the sinks. He did have very pretty hair. Hopefully he wouldn't be as vain about it as a certain clownlike opponent of Genkai's had been about every feature of his appearance. Then again, Shizuru really didn't think it was possible for anyone to match that demon's arrogance and narcissism, so she would just enjoy her job.

Shannon's smile grew even wider as he sat in the chair, looking up at her in the mirror. "So this is where you work?" He gestured out at the salon as if to say "how charming," letting the mystery of who he was linger for just a moment longer. He did enjoy his drama. He cleared his throat to draw the attention back to himself. "I'm Shannon, and it's nice to meet you. Or, I suppose, see you. These things," he waved a hand at the pocket of his pants, "they just make things difficult for these kinds of meetings."

Shannon turned his attention to his hair, answering Shizuru's earlier question: "No, not shorter. It used to be longer Before." He positively sighed. "Just something to liven it up."

That recognition either meant he was someone she was supposed to know or didn't, or another of Haven's more unusual arrivals and she had talked to him before. Since he hadn't criticised her for introducing herself as if to a stranger, probably the latter, and in that case there weren't too many possibilities when it came to his identity. She couldn't be sure until he said it, so she didn't show any reaction to his significant pause ( ... )

Shannon's smile dampened a bit. She didn't seem half as surprised or interested as most people were when they met him, especially after so much mystery and preamble. His ego was used to being stroked regularly by others, and after the unfortunate meetings he'd had with Felix over the past few months, he could have done with another one. Yes, he'd read that letter, but this whole thing made him sad and frustrated.

Shannon suspected from Shizuru's reaction and practical response that he would not find the kind of sympathy and blind adoration that some of his friends back home would have readily supplied. On the other hand, talk was good, and talk was better when it was with someone who didn't have red hair.

Not to mention that he was in a place where his hair would be appreciated. That was happy. His smile recovered its brightness at Shizuru's comment. "I think so too." Never deny a compliment. That would be rude. "So this is the day job?"
