Today's:

Sonata Arctica singer Tony Kakko goes on stage in contacts. Off stage, he wears glasses. Though he has gone onstage with his glasses when he played with Apocalyptica earlier this year :)

I like that song... the Kiss from a Rose cover.

Me too. I'm not ashamed to say that I hate the original. Mostly because it was played to death back when the movie came out.

Though I like the 2nd Northern Kings album way more than the first because there are more songs of all four singing together :)

Which is the opposite for me. I don't like Tony's cover of "Ashes to Ashes". It's the only Tony song that I skip on both CDs. It just drags too much for me :(

Further trivia: He is really quite blind without them. Like... nearly as blind as me. And that's pretty bad. I can see clearly about four inches from the end of my nose.

Really? I didn't know that. I suspected he had to be quite blind to wear contacts on stage. I've seen several rockstars go on stage without their glasses because they were near-sighted but I guess Tony is way more than that.

Yeah, I've seen how close he has to peer at things to see them properly. It's a funny story, actually, involving coincidental similarity of glasses frames, and having mine stolen off my face for a side by side comparison. LOL.

(yes, he gave them back. And no, there was no confusion over which was which... but they ARE very similar. Pretty much the difference is that mine are very dark brown, his are black.)
