Today (like most days) it's good to be a Californian.  The state Supreme Court declared the discriminatory laws that banned gay marriages to be unconstitutional!  Opponents of gay marriage have exhausted all of their avenues, except for a constitutional amendment that has no chance of passage.  It's a good day for civil liberties.

Last year the Washington State Supreme Court ruled that the state legislature could legitimately ban same-sex marriage out of concern for procreation and child-rearing.
