Homeownership is not a right

I'm getting really tired of politicians falling all over themselves trying to keep people in unaffordable homes.  The most recent example is John McCain's call during the debate last night for the federal government to take over bad mortgages.  I am not attacking just McCain's plan - both parties are guilty of this - but it happens to be the one ( Read more... )

Yep. Obama suggested the government buy up mortgages a couple of weeks ago, but he didn't suggest re-negotiating at 90% of current home value.

Someday you'll see my picture on billboards, and if I'm not wearing a Hawaiian shirt you can accuse me of selling out. Hopefully I won't be pimping some Action News outfit, though...

Yeah, most folks shy away from the "lack of common sense" issue since nobody wants to be accused of blaming the little guy for his own stupidity. There's where I have a problem with political correctness, and it probably sounds like I've gone all conservative. But the conservatives have it right when it comes to personal responsibility. I don't want my tax money going to people who can't handle their own money, because if they don't/can't handle their own money responsibly, they sure won't care about how they handle mine.

Oh well, next issue....
