A problem of classification

I'm at a critical stage in my dissertation research but I'm stuck on an important concept, so I'm looking for help from my esteemed audience.  If you help me out you might get a shout-out in my acknowledgments section.

Hmm, good point. Next time I'll have to include more options. I hadn't heard the "mainlining gin" story before. The most recent story I heard was that at one point Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee had a contest to see how long they could go without bathing before groupies would stop having sex with them. They went two months (supposedly) before a fan got sick and called it off. Classy.

Clearly Lynn Cheney's campaign against obnoxious music lyrics prevented the expulsions of noxious gasses which leads one to conclude that federal policies were, indeed, important in the fight against air pollution in the West.

Excellent point. See, you have just demonstrated a major gap in the historiography, which tends to focus on vehicle and industrial emissions as polluting sources. It's time to look at the alternatives...
