Texture of the mold? That's not going to be what's the backing of the viola, that's just cheap pine plywood. :P The ribs & lining are going to be shaped on that, after that, it's just going to be tossed. I don't think it would resonate well at all. :P (We're using pretty flame maple for the back, if you've ever seen what that looks like. Very pretty texture.)
