Okami is a video game. You play the sun goddess Amaterasu who is in the form of a wolf, and save Japan from bad guys. With paint :D I have not actually played it, but it draws heavily on Shinto mythology and clearlyapigeon filled me in on the rest.
I had a lot of fun merging the two mythologies so they play nicely together, and also writing the drunk scenes <3 I'm so glad you liked it and didn't find it too confusing!
