This was so lovely and tragic, and very believable. I love the imagery of these two friends, one old and one forever young, connected and disconnected all at once.

“Why would I?” Bonnie asked as she turned around and finally looked at Caroline standing at her door.

“You’re our witch?”

Wtf?

I really like this. Old Bonnie who's body is succumbing to nature and a young Caroline. Who has killed witches? Ugh. And she's speaking in "us" terms. Lovely.

I think you did a great job! Just one thing:

“It looks itchy. Well, this sucks, I didn’t get you anything. I didn’t even know you knew I was coming. Bonnie shut her eyes tightly and focused her magics into her spell.

You forgot to close Caroline's quote before going on with the description of what Bonnie is doing.

I just realized that Caroline did the same thing as Damon. Damon ended up dead because he came to ask Bonnie for something, forgetting everything he's done that she might make him pay for. Caroline did the same thing: came to ask Bonnie about Damon, forgetting the wrongs she did that Bonnie might want to correct.

I figure Caroline's been raised with this vampire mentality and she's probably heard the language used in front of her before and thinks it's safe to talk like this in front of Bonnie. Because they were friends.

Vampires are so full of themselves.
