Woah o.o ur family is huuge; I'm Chinese too ;D my dad has 5 other siblings and my mum has 2. I have like 30+ cousins altgthr >< and I have relative that I haven't even met ㅎㅎ
xD let me think. In my family, each uncle/aunt has three to four children. If all of them have at least three children, then that means I have at least 24x3 cousins... 72! O.O I'm shocked now. I didn't do the math earlier

Wow, your family is huge. Mine is is kinda big too. My Mom is the oldest of seven. And my Dad is a second from five.And... since my great grandma is still alive (she's 89 now) so we're still close with my Mom's cousins (there are six of them). Fortunately, each of them only has 1 or 2 children, but still...
Out of our generation, I'm the third oldest. I'm 19, my youngest cousin is a new-born, and there's still one more uncle who hasn't married yet (my youngest uncle is just 8 years older than me). I've got so many dongsaengs, it's soo noisy at Idl Fitri.
Oo... I have cousins who are already 40 something. Most of my older cousins already have children and they're already big :P
I know~ that's what happens during family gatherings at my place too. I'm overwhelmed sometimes :P

Ok your family & relatives are really a lot lol My dad's side has a total of 6 boys (incl himself) & 3 girls while my mom's side has a total of 2 boys (but actually one is adopted) and 5 girls (but one given away). My dad is the eldest so me & my siblings are the eldest grandchildren. My status is of uhm grand aunt on both dad's and mom's sides ^^; I also have a cousin who is only 7-8 years old lol. So my cousin's children have an uncle who is roughly same age as them XD My grandparents from both sides are no longer with us though and even an aunt and an uncle.
DId you go back to Indonesia for CNY? That's why the big family gatherings? :) Sorry I haven't been much around LJ other than to get some dl links and OMTD haha....also a few fics here there which I usually try to read while travelling to from work ^^; Hope everything is well for you~!
Apparently it's believed that having a lot of children brings good luck. My father said my grandmother has been married since she was sixteen, and continues giving birth until she's well over 40, as her youngest children are not yet 40 and she's already 81 this year
In my family, however, even if you're older, doesn't mean your children will be older too :P in fact, a couple of my father's little siblings have children older than even my older sister :P the fifth child's oldest son (my father's the fourth) is actually 6 years older than I am! xD talk about getting married late :P on my father's case, of course

i hv big fams too. my mom has 5siblings. and all of her siblings have at least 3kids. one of my cousins even has 6kids. hehe my dad only has 2siblings. well its quite big but as big as yours dear ^^~
I know~ every time I tell my friends how big my family is they're always surprised :P apparently even the tenth mark isn't hit often, so having thirteen children is quite a feat
ok... talking about THE FAMILY... let's see... my father side = 12 (9 lives); mother side = 11; cousins = +/- 25 each side so 50 from both...; nephews and nieces around 15 (from both side)... so... 9+11+50+15 = 85... huaaa... that's A LOT...
