an early T^4

Yes, early today!

Thing One: While I'm very, very sad to hear of Kurt Vonnegut's death, I am also grateful beyond words for his existence. I can't wait til my kids are old enough to read his books, and if you haven't read any of them, I wholeheartedly think you should.

Still and all, why bother? Here's my answer. Many people need desperately to ( Read more... )

Reading about his death today honestly made me so very sad. I just recently read my first book by him (A Man Without A Country) and am now racing backwards reading the many books that so many people have already read. While the idea of him not writing another book or random thought to bring smiles or thoughts out of his readers is indeed very sad, I think I'm lucky in the fact that I have so many of his words to look forward to.

And giant hugs for Khai! Is he really reading? I don't think I've let him age at all seeing as I haven't been around to witness near enough of it. It is so amazing to sit back and watch these little people not only learn, but get so excited about doing so.

YEA for Remodeling!!!

First thought at seeing your post: That is such a very neat icon. I honestly feel like I've seen something very close to it somewhere but can't quite place it. Is the idea from a book cover? Or something crazy obvious that I'm just not getting? I want it to be from the sci fi channel. Regardless ... I loves it :)

I've not read A Man Without A Country! Will have to search for that at my library...

Yes, Khai is really reading. I'm so excited for him! He turns four next month and is pumped about being "a big four years old". I've been requested to make brownies, cupcakes, pie, chocolate cake and cookies for him party, and we must have Spiderman plates (because Spiderman is REALLY COOL, MOM.)

The icon is in the style of Alfons Mucha, one of my favorite art deco/art nouveau painters. You can upload a picture here and it will automagically transform it for you into that style! There are some other fun ones, too. =) Though I *would* like to be in an awesome SciFi channel flick... I'm hurting from Battlestar Galactica withdrawal.

We have the Mat book tucked away in our special drawer full of Gilly things. We only got that one earlier this year though, your boys are such geniuses!

Btw, I'm meeting Anna's mom for coffee and breakfast at Panera Friday morning after dropoff, care to join us?

Aww! What a good idea to keep a copy of the Mat book.

If it were any other morning I'd join you two in a heartbeat... but I have yoga tomorrow and have not been in a MONTH. Max's surgery, sick kids, sick me, sick kids, sick kids, out of town... and yet I still feel like a slacker for missing it. If you do it again sometime I hope you'll let me know! I need the adult interaction. (Just ignore the twitching.)

Yes it finally did! Well.. 99% of it. I finally went to a dr and he told me it was an allergy cough. He prescribed me albuterol (for athma), dxm and cough syrup all together.

Are you feeling 100% yet?

Wow-- well I hope the meds keep it away!

I'm not quite 100%, but definitely better. For a while there I was just MISERABLE.

Here's a (crappy) link to the movie of Khai! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdbKUhcGfcI
