going in circles

The boys are playing happily with Playdough, so I've been scouring the internets, pulling up page after page in search of The Dress.
oh yes, there's more )

clothes, shopping

I AM LOVING the vintage Nicole Miller dress, and it's AFFORDABLE! Do that one and wear a black jacket of some sort over it. Since it's the "winter" season, you can get away with it, and the green accents really help brighten it up. Go for it! :)

I have good luck with Victoria's Secret's clothing. They have some really nice dresses... but I must say that Nicole Miller dress is awesome. That would look so good.

There is also Cache, Neiman's Last Call is having a sale and I am sure that someone would let you use his discount if you found something you wanted.... he would even pick it up at the warehouse and deliver it if need be. :) Don't forget Macys.com and Amazon.

If you actually get the chance to do a little brick and mortar shopping don't forget Nordstrom's Rack, and Group USA.

Thanks for the links! My sister actually bought her dress from Victoria's Secret-- I didn't see anything that caught my eye this time, though. Really, I'm TOO DAMN PICKY.

There were *lots* of things on the Neiman's site that wanted to live in my closet... but even on sale and with a discount, I can't justify spending that much on a dress. Sigh. I need a paycheck. And more places to go in dresses. And more cowbell.

Yeah lots at things at Neiman's want to follow me home as well.... but even with 30% off they can't. :( Evidently I just need to win the lottery (which would mean I need to play and forget that I know how to actually calculate the odds. :) ).

I was going to suggest Ebay. I love ebay. You can find some fantastic deals. I also really like that dress from Newport News. It's way cute, but.....do you have a sweater or something to wear over it? Granted, it hasn't gotten that cold yet, but Murphy says the day you need it to be warm, it will snow. :)

Yes, I would *definitely* need a sweater or a shawl. Murphy has it in for me, I swear...

I like the Generra dress a lot. And my tastes tend to be expensive too which is why I don't buy dresses. I cannot spend that much and wear it only once or twice. Well, I *can,* but it's not happiness in my head. :)

Personally, I think all of the dresses you listed are pretty and reasonably priced. Especially for a wedding, which is one family occasion I am ok with buying something to wear only once for.

But, I do have to say that while I like the vintage style Nicole Miller dress *a lot*, I don't know about for a wedding. It's very bold and may contrast with what other people are wearing. I just think pictures. Dots next to bold florals, etc. But maybe that's my control freaky obsessiveness coming into play.

Let us know what you pick. :)

It's a really casual wedding and I don't think I'll actually be in any pictures, so I'm not *too* worried about the print... however, I hadn't thought of that so I'm glad you've got my back!

I love the dress, though, so I'll probably bid on it anyway, even if I don't wear it for the wedding. :)

I say bid on it anyway. Anything that brings that much joy to the heart is worth having. I mean, you can always wear it in front of the mirror, no?

I like the Newport News dress. The vintage one is really cool, but it doesn't strike me as a weddingy dress. More of a go out and have a great night on the town dress.

What is this "go out and have a great night on the town" you speak of??? Where do I sign up for THAT?

At the "hey Josh get a clue" school, where they teach husbands to rescue wives/moms. :P
