all I need is the perfect dress

I've forgotten how to shop. My 'little' brother is getting married two weeks from tomorrow, and I don't yet know what I'm wearing to the wedding. Granted, shopping with my boys makes things difficult, but even beyond that, I'm just kind of lost ( Read more... )

I would have to agree with your son. :)

Also, I have had major success with dresses at http://www.newport-news.com . They are very, very true to size and I wore one to Shea's wedding and had so many compliments. That and I love how I look in everything I order from there. BONUS.

And, ummm, you're so pretty. Really. Even in black, you'll be juuussstt fine. :)

Thanks for the link! It's been so long since I've shopped for clothes that I don't even know where to look-- so that is a huge help.

Definitely the most handsome boy ever!

I think that you will look ravishing in anything. You just have one of those figures. Lucky. :P

Thank you, dear-- but the whole being tall thing makes it all so difficult! Dresses often cut in at my ribs rather than at my waistline, so anything fitted is usually out of the question. I wish I trusted my sewing skills more. ;)

He is the most handsome boy ever! And I wish you luck on the dress hunt. With your build, you should have no problem finding something gorgeous.

I think for something nice you should try going to this place in Dallas called "Terry Costa" I haven't been there in awhile (obviously) but everyone I know has found a dress there. Whether it be for a bride, prom, or whatnot. It's a huge place you will spend quite some time there. They have all kinds of stuff? Try it. it's off 695 and preston i think.

But.... Again i haven't been there in awhile and maybe their dresses might be too formal so don't shoot me if it doesn't fit what I said!!! Just try going there if you happen to be in Dallas to shop, but don't take a trip just for that place alone.

Thanks for the link! I visited the site and it looks like their stuff is a little more formal than I'm looking for, but I am definitely bookmarking it for the future. It has been so long since I've shopped for myself that I don't even know where to look, so your help is appreciated!

Can I just hire you to be my personal stylist? Of course, I'd pay really well, and there would be lots of coffee dates and required trips to the spa. So yeahhh, I need to go buy lotto tickets...

Ummmmm, I believe I called first dibs on hiring her.

If you're really nice, and buy me chocolate, I miiight just share with you. ;)

In all honesty, though, we need to hook up with the lotto quick. I think the three of us would make mighty fine spa goddesses and shoe whores.

Okay, you hire HER, then I'll hire YOU. Deal?

Although I'm *really* liking the spa goddesses and shoe whores scenario....
