You're more than welcome to come over if you can "crate" your kids for a few hours. Is it legal to do that yet?
We have a lot of non-wheat non-dairy food, although most of it is healthy (read: tastes like ass). And a futon and a cool view. And beer. Lots of beer. And sweet kitties.
Thanks. :) Crating the kids is frowned upon, for some reason or another.
So would you be offended if I came over, sat on your futon, and fell asleep in front of your cool view? ;) 'Cuz that's probably what I'd do right about now. Khai was napping when I wrote that, which means he's still going strong... no sleep in sight for me for a while yet. Sigh.
If you're up to a Thursday night museum adventure, you're more than welcome to come over then. The house is clean and everything! I know we just looked at the pictures there, but we could listen to the jazz band or whatever if the pictures get boring. I could cook up some good food, too, if you'd like.
I'd definitely be up for it again sometime, though since tomorrow is Josh's bday, this week won't work. Thanks! That reminds me, btw, that I still have your books. I need to copy out a few recipes...
You're welcome to hide out over here any time you like. You can even have an entire room... nobody else is using it. =)
Even if you don't tell him he's smart, he'll figure it out. It's a two-edged sword. The real trick is balancing the expectations you and Josh have with the expectations he has.
Thanks! Khai would be jealous, though. He mentioned again yesterday that he wanted to go to your house and watch Pooh & Tigger.
Yeah, I know he'll figure out the smart thing. Even if we never told him, other people will, and he'll start to notice more as he gets older anyway. It's hard to chart what my expectations will be in the future, though I imagine they'll revolve mostly around him just participating in his own education. Working hard and all of that fun stuff that parents like to spout. :) I know he could probably be one of those kids who never lifts a finger but still pulls straight A's... but OMG that gets boring. Hopefully he'll find something that interests him enough to really make him want to dig in and think.
Poor little guy... you guys should figure out some time when you're up for an outing and we can try Operation Visit Mike - Round II. =)
That is the hard part. I know it took me forever to find something that made me feel that way. However, I think both Max and Khai have a slight advantage, given the breadth of interests that their parental units have.
We're up for OVM-II -- the when is the tough part. ;) I'll bring it up to the Josh and we'll see what we can work out.
Hehe-- either the breadth of interests will give them an advantage, or it will make their to-do list of fun and exciting things schizophrenic like mine is. Oh, wait, the nice word is ECLECTIC.
Does that mean you live in a crack house? HA! There would be no reading going on for me... it would be sleeeeeeep. I don't know what the boys have against me sleeping, but they are working hard to make sure I don't get any.
They are brilliant little boys. :) Even when they are climbing on me in the middle of the night, I'm so in love with them.
