I just put up my first post on The Nervous Breakdown. It's an introductory post and I am not saying anything most of you guys here on LJ don't already know, but please read if you are so inclined!!!
Hey! A friend linked to this, and I read it and loved it, and am adding you, I hope you don't mind. I recently moved to the midwest for grad school, and am having some, um, trouble acclimating, but bright spots like this help. Thank you from a random stranger :)
Thanks! :) I moved to Columbus, about 2 years ago. I'm originally from the DC area, and lived in Boston and Philly before I came here, so I'm definitely used to the east coast. It's been an adjustment, but there are definitely good things - huge amounts of space for ubercheap means I have an enormous apartment with an attic darkroom, two porches, and a huge garden! I'm likely only here for another 2-3 years - I definitely miss my friends and family back east, and feel in some ways like my life is still existing there, just without me in it.

But I'm more of an adult West Coast transplant, I lived in New Mexico, Utah, Nevada three times over, Northern Central Cali and so Southern Cali you could walk across the border. I, too, love Lawrence and call it home now.
Have you chanced a try of Bagel Daddy's fare at the Farmer's Market? He does his best.
And I learned a whole new treat list from your post there to try in the wine category. My Italian godfather would be proud. He mainly drank "plonk", however.. and said it with a funny Liverpudlian/Italian accent. I miss him, and you made me realize that I need to connect before he's gone.
