Snowflake's Recovery

I posted a couple weeks ago about how Snowflake, my mom's 30 year old horse, was suddenly very ill with what the vet calls a chronic wasting disease. Well, good news; she's got her appetite back and when the vet came out he said he "Couldn't believe it's the same horse ( Read more... )

I feel weird about cats with short, kinked, or no tails, but that cat is gorgeous. I remember you posted a pic of her coming up toward you/the picture taker and that was one of the awesomest things.

A photo of the cat coming towards the camera, or the horse? I've got a great photo where Bear (the cat) is stalking towards the camera, lookin' for all the world like a fuzzy black lynx...

Oh it's the cat coming towards the camera, sorry. She looked like she was thinking, "Hey cool, a human."

It's a he, but I'm sure that was exactly what he was thinking. Him and his (late) brother are such cuddlesucks.

Aw, that's awesome that Snowflake is doing so much better. 30 years, huh?? That's old isn't it? Idk, maybe horses usually live that long? But anyways I'm glad Snowflake seems to be doing well! :)

hehe Yes, 30 for a horse is quite old. I've heard of a horse who was still competing at 37, but most horses are lucky if they get to 25 in our society. In poorer countries, they often don't make 10.

The first photo was just too cute with her mouth half open so I had to caption it... the other just sort of fit too.

"In poorer countries, they often don't make 10."

Is that because of poor or no veterinary care or because they eat them?

I'm so happy for you that Snowflake has bounced back. Her eyes have a lot of personality.
