So far safe from the direct impact of wildfires, which is a relief. I hope Cali-folks I know are likewise safe, like agentsteel53 in the San Diego area and annamaryse, jj_maccrimmon, lc_corsetry, and ryama in the L.A. area

Sounds like you have it worse than us... we only have even seen smoke a few times, mostly our air is clear, life is normal, and the knowledge that this is going on so close to our home and yet nowhere in sight is surreal.

I would have a terrible time trying to breathe air you describe, we're so lucky in the SF Valley. Geez.

It's better today, but I'm still going to get out of here and head for the Springs today. I could really use a strong dose of blue skies!

Well I could tell that annamaryse was ok, but it is great to hear from you and know that you are distant enough from the fires. Apparently it is so bad that our Saskatchewan fire fighters are expecting to be recruited to come and help soon.

Great to hear from you and glad that you are surviving the disaster. In the past, we've had our share of fires out here--the smoke of one a couple miles away even woke me up one morning. But fortunately we've had an unusually quiet year.

I'm thinking of you and hoping that the black coat of doom scrubs off easily. (Of course, not so possible for those that have been left with nothing but a pile of the stuff.) :(
