it's 5:30 in the morning. That's okay.
I just watched the series finale of Dark Angel (subtitled...grr). I think it was one of the most inspiring ends to a series that I have ever, ever seen. Absolutely beautiful. Do I wish they hadn't ended it? Yeah. But since they had to, this was a really, really good place to do it. *is in a happy place*

shows, dark angel

wait, which series? This icon's from Supernatural (another one of Jensen Ackles' pieces.). And yeah, I've watched every released episode of both series. And I love them all.

I liked it, but it was like "Oh God, you're all so stupid, gathering in one place where they can lay siege and kill you." It was really cool in a not-gonna-end-well sorta way.

I don't know, I think if anyone could pull off a successful Thermopilae, it would be the transgenics.
(also, Ben made me cry in Pollo Loco when he said that...*tears up*

It just seemed like it'd be easy to starve them out. The police already knew about the tunnels and even though the x5s might be able to slip through the blockade, it'd be hard to bring regular shipments of food in for that many people. They need a source of income to purchase that food, preferably a legal means, since they can't survive negative publicity. The only possible sponsor I can think of besides Logan would be the art gallery lady that bought Joshua's art.

Their best bet would have to be to get media attention and sympathy on their side via peaceful protest and un-avenged losses. End up like India-vs-England instead of Ireland-vs-England. If that makes any sense.

I agree they could kick some ass in the short-term, but to me it feels like their voluntary ghetto has the potential to become an involuntary concentration camp.

Sorry to babble. The hubby, our room mate and I had this huge dissection of the flaws in this tactic when we saw the show. This isn't to say we're right or that a happy ending isn't possible.

That episode was James Cameron's "fuck you" to the network for cancelling his show. I think it was a rather effective one.
Although I wish it hadn't ended for many reasons.
Ironically, Dark Angel was cancelled in order for Firefly to be picked up.

Yeah, it's stupid how all the sci-fi/fantasy type shows have to compete with each other for space. Lame!
Now I am getting Ryan addicted to Buffy...since he and Ed already had to sit through all first season Supernatural. I win.

Where'd you get the finale episode? I haven't seen it, and Dark Angel is pretty much my favourite tv series of all time.

If you're patient (don't mind watching the show in 10 minute segments), they're pretty much all on youtube. Just search dark angel and the title and they pop up. The finale was "Freak Nation."

Lady J!
I'm sending you an email in just a little bit. Because I need your Meta skills, and your combined knowledge of DA/SPN. Oh yes, I'm so going there.

It's all good.

Feel free to pick my brains on a SPN/DA thing.

Heh. I came up with a solution to the "no source of income" and "No reason for the government to not carpet-bomb the place" problems for Terminal City. But it's uuuugly.
