Stand by for another rant. I just watched a programme which purported to be Agatha Christie's 'At Bertram's hotel.' I'd seen the Joan Hickson version, and was interested to see what the new one would be like. To my horror, the only thing familiar,was the name of the hotel and names of character. Yeah, something based on a specific book should follow the book... though I remember, many years ago, contacting the BBC to ask something about a book a series was ostensibly based on, and the reply saying, basically, that the book was nothing like the series; they'd bought the rights to the title and character names, but not to the story, so the book wasn't actually the saame as the series. I don't remember now what the book was called or who it was by, but I remember feeling cheated by the whole thing.

I felt cheated by the 'Bertram's hotel' rubbish too. *Sigh*
