A Rant About Salo

I finally watched the movie I've been waiting for for months just now: Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom.  The movie has gotten reviews stating how depraved and disgusting it is and, having read the book it's based off of, I thought I was in for a really sick treat.  Boy was I wrong.

Whew! I've been meaning to comment on this for a while now. It definitely caught my interest so I read through the full wikipedia articles of both and WOW. I've heard of the book before (I think you at least hear of almost everything when you work in a library for so long haha) but I've never taken the time to read up on it.

I could see myself interested in reading the literature as well, but I can see what you mean about the movie (or at least from what I could gather in the wikipedia article). Sometimes they manage to make a great book-to-movie adaptation, but I can imagine it being difficult with such sensitive subject matter like this.

Thanks for posting about it and including the links! It was definitely an interesting read, although I don't know if I'd be brave enough to make it through the film (I'm a total vomit phobe, and I'd image with the types of things going on there might be a bit of puking happening; MAYBE NOT THOUGH I could be wrong XD)

Hmm, I don't recall any vomiting in the film, although it could be a scene I'm forgetting. There is vomit "play" in the book, however, but as long as you don't mind reading about it, you should be fine.
