I love the big difference you can see between River and the locals - a nice introduction to what life is like on the Rim.

This part made me laugh out loud, not only because of River's reaction (oh my!), but because it reminded me of a certain Bill Cosby comedy routine where the wife is saying words to that effect to him in that very stern voice.

Yeah, they're probably my favorite characters to write at the moment - down-home, good, solid folk who don't put up with any nonsense.

I lurve-lurve-lurve Tommy Lee Jones and Jane Lynch is completely high-larious and lovely with those bright blue eyes that Adam Baldwin has as well.
