Thank you! I've got the outline for the next part and I'll work on it after I post my first joint-effort story (authored with the fabulous steplianna, of The Spanking Hat Chronicles fame.
Wash was always one of the emotional centers of Firefly and Serenity - have to give him an arc that relates! :)
This makes me so happy! I was concerned that you may have abandoned Rayne for Jellie. I actually like Jellie as a ship, but I'm still pretty Rayne obsessed. Thanks so much for continuing with this story.
I love the "Regan Tam Mask of Absolute Composure;" I hope we get to see more interplay between mother and daughter as the story progresses. And you've made Wash just as adorable as a child as he was in the series! Great job.
JELLIE is now a major responsibility, but there is no way I will abandon RAYNE or this story. I've got too much riding on it to drop it.
Yes, Regan will make another appearance in The Man In The Moon. And Wash, well, he's colored with shades of Vern Tessio from Stand By Me - one of the finest examples of mid-20th century America nostalgia films.
exactly. i love how awkward river gets around jayne and how even when he's trying to be nice he's still kind of a jerk because... well, he's jayne. i almost died laughing when wash said "power to the people."
Trust a "downtown boy" like Jayne Cobb to make an "uptown girl" like River Tam go a little mental with all that surging testosterone. He's interested to see what Little Miss Core Worlds is made of...! ;P
I had a giggle, too, with regards to Wash, but there's also a little sadness that a 10 year-old is as aware of the differences in status as someone like Doc Hammond. When he did that, it made me want to either hug him or salute him. :D
I'm totally curious to know who is jealous of the River-Jayne relationship... and how true to the Man in the Moon movie you're going to stick to towards the end. Because the ending of that movie was just downright depressing.
Yes, Wash and Zoe are equally "Little Damn Scene-Stealers"! :)
Only time will tell who was jealous of the attention the Cobb boy was receiving...:D
I'm keeping the themes of The Man In The Moon, and there will be a fair amount of sadness to balance the sweetness of the tale. I agree, the movie was depressing, but it also carried a message that I could respect.

It's a nice break from all of the pr0n I've been writing - kind of like a lemon sherbet palate cleanser.
More to come!
