Defiant Gravity
Jayne figured of all the chores on Serenity, cleanin' the carbo bay was probably the easiest gig. A little straightenin', sweepin', spit and polish, and it was over and done with 'til Cap'n Tightpants got another bug up his pi gu. The only downside to Cargo Bay Duty was running into the Moonbrain, or havin' her "accidentally" run into him as she did her dancin' "exercises." Some of those positions she could twist her herself into were mighty interestin'. The one where she she ended up with her ankles behind her ears was pure Special Hell.
Sure as shit, once had gathered the cleaning supplies, he could hear her feng le music start. Something about Defiant Gravity, whatever the di yu that was. Jayne couldn't help but smile to himself. She was stubborn, he'd give her that much. She didn't work his nerves half as much as she used to. When the crew had dance night from time to time, he danced a few with the girl. Sometimes they even talked.
Jayne moved the broom quickly but efficiently, knownin' the sooner he was done, the sooner he could get back to his bunk and watch the latest episode of Busty Blonde Broads. He was forever grateful to Kaylee for tweakin' his cortex. He'd just swept the last of the dirt into a neat pile when he heard a noise above him.
"Jayne-Man!" And there was the girl balanced on top of a pile of crates in some strange pose. Looked like she was fixin' to dive into a waterin' hole...
"River! Get yer pi gu down here right ruttin' now! I ain't takin' a lashin' for ya breaking yer fool neck!"
"The girl will not break her neck." River smiled a creepifyin' smile. "I can defy gravity. You can't bring me down."
"Yer comin' down here, one way or the other girl. I oughta tan yer hide fer actin out."
"Allright, Jayne-Man. I'll just close my eyes and leap." And she did just that.
Jayne automatically dropped the broom and held out his arms. They fell on a pile of gunny sacks, with River on top of him in a way that was not polite for company. She grinned at him lazily like a cat full of cream, and leaned down until her lips were almost touching his. "Thank you, " she whispered, her warm breath tickling his mouth.
"But I would have landed on my feet."
Jayne angrily grabbed her shoulders and tried to her lift her off of him, but she had her arms firmly around his neck and her hips were pressed into his nethers in a very distractin' way.
"I dunno what yer playin' at girl, but I think ya need ta get back to yer dancin' like a good lil crazy person, and let me finish up here."
River shook her head and strands of hair that had escaped her bun tickled his neck and nose. "I'm tired of dancing with myself." She moved her lips over his in not quite a kiss, and rocked her hips against his gently. "I think we've been dancing around each other long enough."
"Whaddya talkin' about? I dance with ya all the time..." Somehow his hands were on her hips pulling her closer instead of pushing her away.
She pulled away just enough to fix him with the you're-such-a-boob look she usually saved for Simon. This time when her lips grazed his, he captured her mouth in a hard kiss and rolled over them over. River's eyes fluttered closed and she clung to him tightly with her long, strong legs.
Jayne finally pulled away to breathe. "Girl, you sure 'bout this? 'Cause there ain't no takin' it back once it's done."
River gazed up at him with dark, glazed eyes and gently nipped his bottom lip. "I trust my instincts." she answered quietly. "We have exactly four minutes and twenty-eight seconds before we are discovered here."
The trip from the Cargo Bay to Jayne's bed usually took four minutes. Even with River wrapped around him, they made it there in two.
