I had this realization a couple weeks ago that I wasn’t going to get a teaching job I wanted for this fall, I am so barely qualified and there is such intense competition in the applicant pool. RB-- don't ever sell yourself short! you are an amazing writer and a great teacher, and any school would be lucky to have you on their staff, whether they realize it or not.

thanks, pd. i want to find my way to the goal of a teaching writing position, i do still believe i would be good at it and happy doing it, i think i'll just need to take an alternate route (namely getting more publications on my CV). the job search process is so emotionally taxing, as you know!

The Baffler is starting up again and they are looking at pitches for stories if you got any Baffler-y type ideas.. I am sure you already looked at all the schools around here for adjunct, but maybe there are other programs, young chicago writers, gallery 37, etc? Best of luck!
