This feels very much like a epiloge (sp?) though I know it's not. I like how you include the tales about how the Grub came to be and hint that there could be eggs still there for a potential sequel.

One thing I didn't understand was the pressure on the barrier. From this story and others it seems like the FoL is already starting to heal the land. What is putting pressure on the barrier and why is it so much stronger than when it was poisoned?
*giggles as the plot bunny lays flopping on the ground looking for a place to take hold* You... You didn't go back and read the end of the last one... did you? I changed the anticlimactic ending with some major plot work. ^-^
Inside the barrier was being healed, but outside wasn't. The pressure came from the force of the life giving energy trying to get out. The barrier held was designed to try and hold the curse in.
