Gold for wealth? Africa is fairly poor... But, I, too, would have associated gold with wealth. Maybe nobility? As the cradle of all humanity?

Wealth stands.. South Africa is were most diamonds (actually all marketable diamonds) come from. The continent also has a wealth of otehr gem stones, and natural wealth in the forms of Animals and Plants.. It is not a wealth continent because this wealth is not evenly distributed around.
