Master List Here Silence.
“And... the other matches?” Gwen asked.
“Steven and Alice Carter,” Martha sighed, studying the Captain’s face carefully. His eyes were wide, one hand clamped to his mouth, the other clenched around the arm of the chair.
And then he was up, almost knocking the chair flying. He pulled a mobile from somewhere and with shaking fingers dialled a number.
Another beat of silence while the phone rang, then another and another, until the tinny automated answer-machine message started up.
Jack pinched the bridge of his nose, and closed his eyes
The team exchanged concerned glances as the message ended. The Captain swallowed; opened and closed his mouth a few times; took a deep breath.
“Alice- I... It’s your dad. I-” He sighed, “Call me. Please... I’m- I’m so sorry.”
Jack ended the call. He stood there for a few moments with the phone clenched in his fist, before taking another deep breath and dialling another number. He waited
“The number you have called is not available...” the tinny voice informed him. Jack growled and smashed the phone down on the table in front of him, shattering the plastic. He rested his hands either side of the broken phone and hung his head.
“Gwen,” He said, turning his head a little. She moved over to him, resting a comforting hand on his back, “Find her,” He whispered, “Please.” She patted his back once, before turning, and walking out of the room, towards the main hub. Chris and Martha exchanged a glance, and then followed Gwen out, leaving Jack alone. He sobbed.

When Jack rejoined the group they were all hard at work. He was behind them, and watched them silently. Gwen seemed to be having a rather frustrating phone call, constantly sighing and giving the finger to the person on the other end.
“For god’s sake Mr. Jacobs, a woman’s life could very well be on the line at the moment, so I’d appreciate it if you’d stop with all this nonsense about confidentiality, and just tell me! I’ve already explained that I am a police officer, and I need to know-” She sighed as Mr. Jacobs interrupted her with yet more pompous ramblings.
“You’ll not being getting an address!” He yelled, loud enough that it could be heard clearly by everyone in the Hub. There was some more unintelligible rambling, then Gwen pulled the phone away from her ear, visibly fuming.
“’Gone to see her father’,” Gwen imitated, attempting a terrible English accent, “’That’s all you’ll get out of me!’ Then the bastard hung up.” Martha smiled slightly at the attempt.
“D’you think he’s telling the truth?”
“Probably. If he wasn’t going to say, he would have just hung up, not lied.”
“So she came here... How long ago?”
“Her boss said she took three weeks off, and left last Tuesday. Told me that right before the yelling” Gwen grumbled, “Access the CCTV footage from her house, Chris and see if that matches up. Then scan the area around the Hub at that time for her face.”
“Already on it.
The team continued to give each other instructions, as new results turned up. Jack watched for a few more minutes, before a slight movement caught his eye. Becca stood at the edge of the Hub, watching unnoticed as well. Their eyes met, and she smiled shyly at him. He beckoned her towards him, and slowly turned and walked back in the direction he had come, towards the boardroom.
