If Obama wins, I only hope that he is half as good as people are expecting him to be. If he turns out to be just another loser assclown, as ms_tek believes him to be, then I think we will be hard-pressed to see another Democratic president in our lifetimes. If Obama loses, I have to admit, I'll giggle.

Yeah, I'll probably laugh a little myself. Then I'll go pick up that application to IUJ (International University of Japan) that's sitting on my kitchen table and start filling it out. =/

I still cannot believe we have to live with the antiquated electoral voting procedure.

Why is it every vote can't actually count? I just don't get why this B.S. is still okay...especially after what we've seen in the past.

If they did away with the electoral vote, we could have more than just 2 or 3 people in the running for President and whomever got the most votes (if every one actually did count) would be the president...which is how it should be.

Well, unfortunately, no one has challenged the system and since the checks and balances that were once in place to make sure idiots like Bush didn't get into office due to fuckups like here in Florida, not one election, but TWO, it just shows how unstable and how little power "we the people" really have at this point.

It will take either the A-typical fall of Rome type thing to happen to our "democratic" government or some sort of uprising because the common man no longer wants a fascist government taking away all of their freedoms.

We'll see if it happens in our lifetime or not?
