I’ve been all about the crafting lately. I find this happens every fall - anyone else find their creativity soars when the temperatures drop? Of course, not everyone gets the massive drop in temperature we do - we had quite the sunny and warm September and early October, but in ( Read more... )

Well, I like to hear about the snow, too.
The ferret is cute in the hat, but I am glad you include photos, since I have never heard that word for the hat type, so wouldn't have had a clue what you meant.

I absolutely love the snow. I can hardly wait for it to snow more.

The hats are called Jayne hats because the design of it is from a TV show where a character named Jayne is sent one of those by his mother. The show is Firefly - the short-lived but awesome space western created by Joss Whedon (same guy as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and others). They're also often called "cunning hats" because in the show, Jayne calls it a cunning hat. It's a geek thing. :)

This is what the original looks like:

that would explain why I didn't know the term. I haven't watched TV since the early 1980's, when I found the SCA and discovered that I would far rather do things than sit around looking at a box watching other people do things. Though, to be fair, I have heard of Firefly, even if I have never seen it...

It's an excellent show and it sucks it only lasted a season.

I can't sit and watch TV all by itself either... I have to have something in my hands for me to be able to watch it. But now that there's TV online... I have marathon-watched many many shows while knitting/embroidering/hand-sewing/etc. :)

Thanks for educating me on the hat--I now understand why one of my friends here in Frostheim is wearing one in his FB profile, even though it is clearly summer when the photo was taken.
