Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, though it’s been a pretty hectic few weeks, what with my aunt and uncle visiting from England whilst I’ve consecutively been knee-deep in painters. This is thanks to the insurance company deciding that earthquake compensation involves a free interior paintjob. I’m not sure how exactly that adds ( Read more... )

I hope you enjoy the last two episodes of Dancing on the edge, I know I certainly did!
And will look forward to the next one they filmed
I found all the actors simply amazing

I don't know why, but 'Dancing On The Edge' has not worked for me. I did not feel any connection to it. The same with 'Downton Abbey'. I have a particular taste I guess and those two shows do not really meet it. And Doctor Who died with the Tenth Doctor for me.

On the other hand, I LOVED "Les Miserables". One of the best films/musicals I've ever seen. I was in tears with Fantine and Marius and Valjean in the end. Wonderful work! And the funny thing is, both my dad and my brother, men who have never seen a musical before and were prejudiced against it, well guess what, they too were blown away! ;D

I quite enjoyed Dancing on the edge, but can't come at Downton Abbey for some reason.

I haven't seen Les Miserables, I think I have to be an a particular mood for it, but I probably will sometime.

The other TV show I am really enjoying is David Tennants Broadchurch. Its really well written (and I know Chris Chibnall has gotten flack for his episodes of Dr who) and its the scenery is beautiful!

I also enjoyed the first series of Whitehall
I've just finished reading all the Quirke books, so now I can't wait for the TV series!

Heh, I think a lot of men pish-posh musicals and/or period dramas, but get easily caught up in them if once they're forced to sit and watch.

I remember introducing a male friend to the Colin Firth/Jennifer Ehle version of "Pride and Prejudice" and seeing him get more and more engrossed by what was happening (it helped that I weaned him in with "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies").

Also, my sister watched "The Sound of Music" with her boyfriend just last week, and he conceded that it was better than he'd initally thought.
