Got a talking to by my Grandmother. All of which included that she thinks I'm choosing against Mom by not choosing; why I don't bring my friends around - which led to a discussion of my spirituality and now Grandma's praying for me (oy ye vey); and that I need to find some way to make up with my mother who loves me very much and would do anything

A "talking to" -- key phraseology. Not talking with.

One thing, dearheart - Your Mom made a choice to make you the center of her life "has always put me first and made time for me and has always chosen me over others, without question." That does not mean you are responsible for that choice. Guilt can be a very subtle tool, and sometimes as subtle as a sledge hammer. I think you are right - it is time to move into your own life. Although it's a good thing to remember that, no matter how old you are, you will always be six years old to your Mom. :) HUGS!

thanks for that. good to be reminded that I'm not responsible for other people's decisions/choices....even my mother's. and thanks for the hugs!! :)
