You can tell by that soft almost sepia sunlight that Autumn is readying itself in the wings.
We used to get all sorts of birds visiting the garden, but since Poppy and Freya started patrolling out there it's dwindled to a couple of thuggish wood pigeons and a scruffy blackbird that looks a bit special needs.
