Seriously. Before I used to start fuming with rage whenever shit like this came up. I literally just stared at the thread for a good 10 seconds after reading that before I decided to just post it on my LJ. I don't think I have the energy for this anymore.

It's just that some things are better said and discussed on LJ. We have a pretty strict set of rules on CoS but most of the time it's working pretty well for everyone involved. We couldn't have any discussion if everyone spoke their mind without filtering, especially considering that we have so many opposing viewpoints in LS.

I agree about that article. Subtle Science is also butthurt - http://subtle1science.livejournal.com/15284.html. I wonder what set her off. I don't remember such a comment on COS, but maybe I've missed something.

CoS has had a crazy Snapewar ever since I joined back in 2007, with both Snapefen and Snape haters wanking up a storm and denying canon. From what I heard from a few others, it was a lot worse than before that. Even today you have the strangest arguments from people about other characters.
