30 Days of Creativity Day 11: Orange

I don’t like oranges.
Too many seeds.
Thick skin.
The unfortunate connection to Anita Bryant.

Too much trouble to eat
Too many bad memories from when I came out as gay
Still, I think about the pie that was mashed into her face
A small part of me smiles.
I wonder if they used orange cream

I'm not keen on oranges. It's just as well they are not the only fruit.

I live in Florida. I think it's in the state constitution that I could go to jail for slandering oranges. I'm such a rebel.

I think that I've spent too many years her in Florida to cut her or the fruit any slack.
