I went out into the woods today. The tall towering trees were so welcoming and the burbling creek beckoned me down to it's banks. I wished I could sit down and meditate there, but it's been so rainy lately that it wasn't dirt I was walking in--it was mud ( Read more... )

It's wonderful to be in the woods!
But i also like the sea a lot. It's so calming to me.

There is something about the sea that is calming, and I love it very much. But I don't know, there's just something about the woods that calls to me~ <3

I am a bit afraid of bees and wasps. I agree, just being out in the woods, surrounded by nature.. seeing life unfold as it does with the plants and elements and animals... that can be so soothing. I am very connected to the sea. Especially with sunsets. Its breath-taking. I always feel that I am somehow at the edge of the world.

I used to be afraid of bees. Up until about two years ago actually. Then I just kind of watched them and didn't swat or run away. They never attacked me or tried to sting me. I learned they were safe ^_^

Sunsets on the sea are very breathtaking. There's no denying that~

Bees are wonderful :)
I'm glad you got a bit of a break. I love going to the forest myself. I find that woodlands soothe me while being near water, that's more like cleansing or empowering to me.

Cleansing is a good word to describe what the sea does to me. But in a different way than the woods does. It's really hard to explain.

yeah
I kind of know what you mean though it may be different for me anyway, but it IS different.
The sea is like... ah, more forceful? At least for me, but in a good way.
One thing I did when we were in Ireland recently was toss a stone I'd filled with all I wanted to let go and behind into the sea East of Dublin. The sea was stormy right then, perfect, and it seemed to swallow it up something forceful. It was like yeah sure, toss it in, bring it on, rawwwwwwwrrrr! :)

Getting out in nature is a real need for me too. I start to get quite depressed and feel out of balance if I can't do it on a fairly regular basis. I do have a special love for the sea, and water in general, but I love the woods as well.

And bees are awesome :D Especially the big fluffy bumblebees.

I love bumblebees! These were honeybees that were visiting with me yesterday :D

And I totally agree--if I can't get out in nature every now and again, I feel totally off~
