Ahhhh ovo-lacto vegetarianism. Also known as the beedy eyed vegetarians as they'll eat anything that's not cute. I read a study once that I would like to find out more about that said that more animals are killed to produce the same calories of grain than are killed producing meat since the current farming standard is to plant a huge field of grain, wait until it attracts every small furry creature in the area and the go over the whole thing with a giant whirly hacky harvester. If you're really interest you might be able to check out some small time organic growers or private farmsteads. They're more likely to be using less destructive harvesting methods just because they haven't got the money for them. Of course the amount of water it takes to produce wheat is less than beef but then again I'm hoping that they seriously wash it.
