Dude. I live on the third floor and I heard him BOUNCE. It was just... legs aren't supposed to bend that way. Plus since there's no light in the hall, people were using their cell phones as lights until I ran and got my camping lantern.
I left a snarling message on the office phone. I know someone had to have put a work order on that, I was planning on it it it wasn't fixed by Monday.
It just... it's just one more damn thing after another. Grrr.
But I really liked the house. It's only a two bedroom, but its all hardwood floors, the appliances are relatively new, and there's a lot of houses under renovation in the neighborhood so that means money's coming in and not going out and that's good for the value of the house.
*shudders* Oh dear god. *sends Zuko to burn some motherfuckers*
Haha, two bedroom house seems huge to me. /still needs to make the move to an apartment orz But yay hardwood floors and appliances and nice neighborhood and other stuff that we never thought would be amazing and exciting when we were kids, but now is like Christmas!
I was standing outside of it, mentally planning to placement of the one-car garage I'll probably build and thinking about some landscaping... yeah, I really hope they take the offer or that negotiations end with something we can all live with. However, it's worth noting that the asking price was exactly the price I was looking at so I know I won't have to pay more than that.
It's 150 more square feet than my current apartment and if I mentally did the mortgage right, it might be less than I'm paying now.
I think it's more of a small house making the land look bigger, 'cause it's not any bigger than the lots around it. But... I kinda like that about it. I wish it had a few more trees on the lot, but not having trees give me more options in terms of landscaping/garage/porch building.
How very cute! It has wonderful curb appeal. :) If the inside looks as well-kept-up as the outside, I'm sure it's wonderful.
That's terrible about your neighbor. I will send good thoughts his way. I hope he'll be all right. Having dealt with idiot landlords before, I just...grrrr.
Wishing you lots of good luck in the negotiations! It's very exciting, but nerve-wracking.

Oh, your poor neighbour - won't your landlord be liable for his insurance costs, seeing as they were at fault?

I think I will, too. It's got that good "first house" feel to it.
