They had to move yet again. It seemed like that was all they ever did; move house, move school, change lifestyle. I wasn’t Reita’s fault, not really. He couldn’t help the curse he was born with; no one believed him anyway, they all thought he was crazy, beyond being a lunatic. Not even his own parents believed him; they thought he was totally mad as well. Even though they didn’t say it, Reita knew they blamed him for their constant need to move. If he were a normal kid they wouldn’t have to deal with any of that shit.

People couldn’t seem to accept the fact that Reita was different. All of his life he’d been able to see things, hear things, touch things that no else could. When he tried to tell people about the things and people he saw at first they thought he was just a little kid with imaginary friends, but as he got older and kept talking about these people he saw, others started to form suspicions about him. None of the other kids’ parents would let them play with Reita. ‘Too strange’ they said, ‘Not right in the head’ they said. Reita’s parents believed that too. The pair of them sent their son to countless therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists; anything at all that could help ‘cure’ his illness. But it wasn’t an illness; it was a blessing and a curse all in one. Reita hated it yet loved it at the same time. For a time the world had really convinced him that he really was crazy, but then he remembered that he wasn’t. There wasn’t really a reason for why he believed he wasn’t mad, it was just something he knew. Reita knew he wasn’t crazy.

He continued to get older and he continued to see things. People were afraid of him. When he reached high school he’d become rather infamous; word travelled fast, even between schools. Everyone knew what he claimed to see and everyone thought he was insane. Crowds in the hallways would part for him, people whispering and staring, pointing fingers and throwing insults. But he was used to it all by now, he just continued on his way.

When people finally began to go after him outside of school he’d discovered how much of a temper he really had. Boys from his year and even the other years would corner him outside of school and abuse him, both verbally and physically. It became a common ritual for them; but such a fiery tempered blonde like himself wouldn’t stand idly by and let that scum beat the shit out of him. So he fought back and he got in trouble. Because he was different so, clearly, he was in the wrong.

An expulsion, a change of schools, more rumours, more fights, another expulsion, and another school. It was a deadly cycle that was bound to stop working altogether soon and the time came when it finally did. It was during the first term of his third year in high school when Reita got into yet another fight and was expelled for what was probably the thousandth time. But when his parents had tried to search for a new school they found that none of them would accept Reita. His school record was plagued with absences, documents of every single fight he’d ever been in and all of the records of the apparent mental illness he carried. No school in Tokyo wanted him.

So, much to his parents’ initial distaste, they’d had to move out of the big city and to a more secluded, small town. Things had worked out in such a way that he would move with his mother to their new house and his father was stay in Tokyo for another six weeks in order to finish up business before moving out to join Reita and his mother.

Their apartment in Tokyo was left completely bare, furniture having been loaded up and taken to the new house already. Reita had stripped his bedroom of all of his posters and his CD collection, hauling a few boxes out to the car and loading them in the back. He took special care when packing away his bass guitars into their own respective hard-cases and lugging them, along with his multiple amplifiers, out to the car. Once they were completely packed up and ready to go Reita and his mother piled into the car ready for the tedious move.

After being in the new house for a week Reita still hadn’t really spoken to anyone. He didn’t really fancy making any ‘friends’ when it was a given that they’d find out his ‘illness’ and ditch him right away. Besides, he didn’t need friends; however, he hadn’t seen any of them since he’s left Tokyo. He thought that, maybe, he’d finally gotten away from it all and he could start to settle into his new school. Maybe he could actually make some friends. There was a boy at school who he found to be quite interesting; Reita was fairly sure his name was Ruki.

Mid-way through the second week Reita had endured a particularly tiring day at school. But on a better note, it turned out that he had managed to draw Ruki’s attention and he’d been inviting to sit with the midget blonde and a few of his own friends the next day. Finally, Reita’s life seemed like it was actually normal for once. That was until, of course, one of them just had to show up and ruin everything.

Trudging into his bedroom, the blonde tossed his bag in the corner and shrugged out of his school blazer, hanging it up on a coat-hanger to keep it from getting crumpled. Unbuttoning his white school shirt he slid the material off his broad shoulders and tossed it into the pile of washing that was slowly accumulating in one corner of his room. Just as he was reaching down to undo the button and fly of his pants he heard a little gasp from behind him.

“Please don’t get naked!” Squeaked a voice he’d never heard in his life. “Believe it or not, I’m still innocent.”

Reita stood frozen for a second before he slowly turned around, eyes a littler wider than what would be considered normal. He couldn’t believe it, how had he gotten so unlucky in life. There, sitting cross-legged on his bed was exactly what he’d not wanted to see. The boy looked about his age; he had pretty porcelain features and long, flowing raven locks that trailed down over his slight shoulders. But Reita looked closer because he knew better than to accept assume something was all right and good at just the first glance. The boy was wearing a shirt that was very similar to his school one and a pair of black pants. The shirt was torn and bloody, smeared with crimson yet there seemed to be no kind of mark on the boy himself; his skin was perfectly smooth. Upon closer inspection he could notice that the raven’s pale skin was slightly transparent and he produced a small glow.

“No... no no no no no!” Reita shouted, bringing his hands up to clutch at his flatly straightened hair. “Why? Why did one of you have to be here? I thought I’d finally gotten rid of you things!”

The raven’s face fell a little, like he was disappointed. “I’m sorry,” he appeared to sincerely apologize. “I’d leave if I could but… I’m kind of stuck here.”

Of course he was and that meant that Reita would have to deal with him. Usually he’d have put up more of a fight, but he was really too tired to argue about anything. With a sigh the blonde strode towards the bed, sitting down next to the smaller figure that radiated a certain coldness. But what else would he radiate? Certainly not warmth. “I’m Reita.”

The pretty raven smiled, “Aoi. Pleasure to meet you Reita.”

Lying back on his bed the blonde folded his arms behind his head and stared up at the ceiling. “So, Aoi… How long have you dead?”

Anyways, I hope you enjoy, darlings. I know I've been dying to write some Reita/Aoi for ages! <3
