(Previous Chapter) The entire ride home was deadly silent. Takanori sat with his hands folded in his lap, eyes down-cast; he didn’t dare speak because he knew his brother was beyond pissed. He’d really fucked up this time and he knew it. Sure, he could get away with mouthing off sometimes and staying out too late with Yuu. But smoking was too far. He knew that Kouyou hardly ever got angry, but when he did the blond’s temper was like hell on fire and it honestly scared him.
When the car pulled up outside the brothers’ apartment building Kouyou got out without even sending a glance Takanori’s way and began the walk up stair cases to reach their two bedroom home. Much slower than his elder brother, Takanori followed finding that the front door had been left open for him and his brother had disappeared inside. Taking quiet tentative steps, the high school student retreated to his room in order change out of his uniform and toss on a pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt. When he was undoing the buttons on his white school shirt he noticed that his hands were trembling and he knew perfectly well why. Kouyou was terrifying when he was mad.
A knock sounded at his door just as he finished pulling the shirt over his head making him jump almost three meters in the air with a rather loud, cowardly yelp. Without waiting for an invitation to enter Kouyou swung the door open and strode in, the scowl on his face just as evident as it had been in the car.
“Take a seat,” Kouyou commanded, his voice deep and frightening. With lowered eyes, Takanori dropped his backside down onto the mattress. “Now, Takanori. Would you like to tell me what the fuck is going on?”
“Kou…” Takanori began in a quiet, slightly trembling voice. “I-I didn’t mean to-”
“Didn’t mean to what?” Kouyou questioned darkly. “Surely you aren’t going to tell me that you didn’t mean to do it because that’s absolute bullshit! You meant to do it because you did it. Do you understand, Takanori? Yuu didn’t hold you down and force you to smoke, you did it of your own will hence you can’t possibly expect me to believe you when you say you ‘didn’t mean to do it’!”
The red and black haired boy shrunk back slightly. He may have been the ‘tough guy’ at school, despite his rather small stature and soft-looking appearance, but when his brother was angry he was almost reduced to a small quivering child. Kouyou’s outrage seemed to radiate out of every pore in his entire body and Takanori could feel its intensity seeping towards him as he cowered on the edge of his double bed, head downcast as he looked ashamedly at his bare feet.
“I just want to know why you did it, Takanori,” Kouyou growled. “Why would you ever think that smoking is ok? I can deal with your staying out late, your skipping class, your mouthing off. But smoking? Taka, I don’t think you understand how fucking stupid that it!”
Suddenly, Takanori felt a burst of anger and defiance surging up in him and he sprang off the bed, coming nose to chest with Kouyou. The short student jabbed his finger against his elder brother’s chest as his usually calm face contorted in anger. “And what the fuck would you know about anything? You’re never around! You’re always too busy working to notice shit. I’m not meant to have to put up with this shit; I’m just the kid, Kou. I’m just trying to survive high school; I shouldn’t need to worry about ‘finding my own way home’ or cooking my own dinner every night, doing all of the washing and the cleaning. That’s not my job. It’s just not, Kou. So, yeah, I started smoking. But can you really blame me? I have to basically live on my own as well as put up with all the shit at school, not to mention, just being a teenager. I’m stressed, Kou. I’m so unbelievably stressed and I just can’t deal with things. It’s too hard.” By the end of his little rant little rant Takanori’s voice had gone from booming rage to a ragged whisper, angry tears gathered at the corners of his eyes, threatening to spill over. Furiously, he wiped them away in an attempt to appear like he wasn’t crying.
Kouyou stood, utterly shocked. It was the first time his little brother had ever really given him a piece of his mind. To say he felt bad would be a huge understatement, he had no idea Takanori had felt that way and he suddenly wished he’d paid more attention to his sibling. But he’d been so busy lately it’d been hard to find that time…but that was the problem wasn’t it? He was never around and that’s why his little brother was so angry and stressed out. He felt like a horrible brother. He felt like he’d failed the one person he was meant to protect and look out for. He couldn’t say anything, couldn’t move even when Takanori backed away and retrieved a bag from his wardrobe and started shoving clothes and his school uniforms into it. It was only when the bag was fully packed with all of his school necessities and a decent amount of clothes and zipped up that Kouyou finally snapped out of his shocked trance.
Takanori shoved passed him with such force it almost caused his tall, lanky form to topple over and began heading for the front door of their apartment, his elder brother hot on his heels. “Taka…” Kouyou tried calling out, but the student didn’t stop walking. “Taka, wait up. Where do you think you’re going?” Still there was no answer and the blond lurched forward to catch his little brother by the elbow. “Takanori!”
The younger boy whipped around, wrenching his arm out of his brother’s pleading grip. “Fuck off, Kouyou!” He screamed in the elder’s face and the utter rage the flashed in his dark eyes left Kouyou stunned like a deer caught in headlights. Without another word he stormed out. The apartment door slamming shut behind him, leaving the young blond data clerk standing in the doorway wide-eyed and open-mouthed.
Where the hell did Takanori think he was going? Without really thinking about it, Kouyou flung open the door and scrambled down staircase after staircase until he burst out the front entrance of his apartment building. People moved around him, all going to different destinations; but he paid no mind to those around him even though they gave him strange looks and concerned glances, wondering if he was crazy. With a frantic look in his eyes he quickly took off in the direction of the train station, hoping he still had time to catch his little brother.
“Takanori!!” He yelled out his younger sibling’s name as he entered the bustling underground maze. It was particularly busy at this time of day with everyone leave work and taking the fastest possible route home which ended up clogging up almost every spare inch of space. People stared at the blond man as he pushed through the tightly-packed crowd, but he couldn’t focus on them, he had to find his brother.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a flash of messy black and red streaked hair passing through the gates down to the station. “TAKA!!” Kouyou called out. However, if the student had heard him he certainly didn’t acknowledge it. The blond’s younger sibling hurried down the escalator towards the platform, no doubt jumping on the Shinjuku Line which the overhead speakers announced had just pulled into the station. Kouyou knew there was no way he could catch up now, so there he stood, in the middle of the overcrowded train station with a blank look plastered over his face as he stared after the only family he had left. Where exactly did Takanori plan on going? What was he going to do? Kouyou had seen that he’d packed his school uniforms so that must mean he was planning on going to school. Maybe he’d be able to catch him coming out the next day.
The blond guessed that was his best bet and, as he turned to return home he smacked into a man only just shorter than himself, almost sending them to the floor if it weren’t for the stranger’s quick reactions. He caught Kouyou by the shoulders steadying him. The blond gave a shallow bow and apologized quietly, saying that it was his fault and he wasn’t paying attention to where he was going.
“Takashima-san?” The voice questioned, completely ignoring his sad excuse for an apology.
Kouyou looked up, wondering who could’ve possibly recognized him in such an incredibly packed place. When the blond’s sad eyes met with that of the ‘strangers’ they widened ever so slightly. “Uke Sensei?” Takanori’s cheery homeroom flashed him a bright smile as if the teacher thought it might’ve cheered him up somewhat, however if that were the intent it didn’t have the desired effect. “Sorry again. Excuse me,” he gave another shallow bow and attempted to step around the now confused teacher.
“Whoa, Takashima-san,” the teacher stuck out his arm in order to stop the blond from leaving. “Are you ok?”
“Yes, I’m fine. I just need to get home.” Kouyou was starting to grow a little impatient. He really wasn’t in the mood for pleasantries with his younger brother’s homeroom teacher; he just wanted to get home and maybe try calling Takanori’s cell phone, even though he knew the boy probably wouldn’t pick up or it’d be off.
“Is there anything I can help with? Would you like to go and get coffee?” The damn teacher was persistent, Kouyou would give him that. “I insist,” the brunet added hopefully.
The blond weighed up his options. Really, what was he going to do at home for the remainder of his night? Knowing him he’d most likely worry over where exactly his brother was and then he’d only end up upsetting himself which wouldn’t be good. There was no possible way he could head back into work now, not even if he was to be paid overtime. He knew he wouldn’t be able to focus his mind on any one task. With those few things in mind he gave a heavy sigh and tried a forced smile. “Sure, why not?” After all, it’s not like he’d be spending his time with someone unpleasant. The guy seemed nice enough and he was incredibly attractive.
The chestnut haired man beamed at him chirping a happy ‘great, I know the perfect place’ before turning on his heel and beginning to plough through the crowd and back out onto the almost equally as crowded street. Kouyou found it a little difficult to keep up with the speedy teacher but as they neared a corner the pair found themselves in a less crowded part of the city having turned off the main road. Another minute of walking and they found themselves outside a mildly crowded café. No doubt it was rush hour; people dropping on their way home to pick up a quick caffeine boost before braving the packed train.
After their coffee had been ordered, the pair of men sat down at a table towards the back, Kouyou staring down into his steaming cappuccino; not really in the mood to talk even though the other clearly wanted him to. Taking a deep breath he looked up at the expected teacher. “Look, Uke Sensei-”
“Oh, you don’t have to call me that outside of school grounds,” the chestnut haired man smiled brightly, showing off the adorable dimple once again as he waved his hand dismissively. “Please, just call me Yutaka.”
Kouyou nodded, “Right… well, I guess you can just call me Kouyou, then.” Honestly he felt a little awkward. But the other man clearly had no problems whatsoever with their current situation. Kouyou really just wanted to leave. Despite how lovely Yutaka seemed, he really wasn’t in the mood.
Right when Kouyou thought the bubbly teacher was going to lean forward and spurt some over-joyful ‘cheer up’ bullshit a serious expression overcame his face. Lacing his fingers together on the tabletop he shifted in his seat, leaning in to the blond a little more. “Did something happen with Takanori? I saw him run past me in the train station and I tried to call out to him but he seemed like he was in a rush to get somewhere; and then you were there.”
Kouyou was slightly taken aback; the sudden change in Yutaka had been so instantaneous it was hard to register the exact moment he turned serious. Maybe that was what made him a teacher; his ability to keep things fun and lively but then turn serious when he needed to be. He wouldn’t really be surprised if Yutaka turned out to be one of the more popular teachers at Takanori’s school. After a moment Kouyou merely sighed and ran a slightly trembling hand through his mussed-up hair as he began explaining.

Takanori hitched the strap of his bag further up onto his already aching shoulder as he climbed the stairs of possibly one of the oldest, crappiest apartment buildings in all of Tokyo. The outside of the building made it look as if were actually abandoned, with vined creeping up the side and a cracked window here and there; but despite how it looked it was actually occupied. Much to his displeasure, the lift was broken which meant that the not-so-fit teenager had been forced to lug his heavy bag up flight after flight of stairs in order to reach his desired destination. The time was nearing nine at night and the sun had long ago set and street lights been switched on. Takanori had gotten slightly lost after getting the Shinjuku Line and then boarding a bus that took him as close to the building as possible. Of course he knew the way like the back of his hand but he’d never had to travel at night time and his horrid sense of direction left him a little stumped once the sun had set. To make matters worse it had started raining as he walked along the abandoned street, leaving him looking very much like a drowned rat with his bangs sticking flatly to the side of his face and the eyeliner he’d put on that morning dripping down his cheeks. But eventually Takanori was left standing outside a door he knew all too well as he knocked on the worn-out wood.
There was some shuffling inside the apartment before the door swung open to reveal Takanori’s best friend who looked somewhat taken aback at the sight of the teenager in front of him. Yuu wore nothing but a pair of baggy black sweat pants that hung far too low on his slim hips for comfort and he had his black and silver hair tied up messily on top of his head with a few strands of hair from his fringe framing his face which was completely devoid of any makeup. It was an image only a select few people got to see, Takanori being included in those few.
The raven haired teenager scuffed his shoes against the carpeted floor of the hallway and gave Yuu a sheepish half smile that held no sense of humor or joy. “Hey Yuu…” He scratched the back of his head, hoping to get rid of some of the water that was dripping onto his shoulders and down the back of his neck, succeeding in probably giving him a nasty cold.
“Taka…” Yuu breath in obvious disbelief as he took in his best friend’s condition curiously. “What the hell happened to you, man?” When Takanori didn’t answer him, only continuing to glare at the dirty floor with a pinched expression marring his face, Yuu assessed him for a few moments before he stepped to the side and motioned for his friend to come inside, “Come on, you look like total shit.”
Takanori mumbled a quiet thank you and shuffled into Yuu’s apartment. After he’d wiped his running makeup off and dried his hair, changing into a pair of sweats and a t shirt, Takanori sat cross-legged on Yuu’s futon with his best friend situated in front of him in much the same fashion. Takanori was incredibly grateful to Yuu; without even thinking about it the silver haired teenager had let him in to offer a bed and a warm place to stay. Yuu really was the best kind of friend in Takanori’s eyes; he knew he could always count on the elder boy.
After a long silence where Yuu did little other than study Takanori closely, probably trying to gauge the situation to the best of his ability. Takanori knew that Yuu was quite good at figuring stuff out for himself; he didn’t usually need Takanori to tell him. “Kouyou didn’t kick you out, did he?” Yuu asked, frowning. Takanori knew that as big as Yuu’s crush on his older brother was he’d always put Takanori first; even if it meant having a go at Kouyou, which Yuu had actually done on a few occasions but only when it was absolutely necessary.
Takanori shook his head, “No. I left. Not permanently, obviously; but I just really needed to get out of there. He’s just been so unbelievably blind to me lately. Like, it seems like no matter what I say or do he’s just too focused on doing what’s ‘best for me’. But what he fails to realize is that while he’s out doing that I’m being neglected.” Takanori shook his head, taking a breath from his small rant. He didn’t mean to dump all of this crap on Yuu, but he didn’t really have another option at the time. His emotions were too pent up and they were ready to overflow. “I really hate to sound like a whiney teenager, but he doesn’t way attention to me anymore. He’s got it tough, I know; he’s trying to be my mum and my dad and my brother and my friend… But I don’t need that, you know? Sure, he needs to provide for me and all, but he won’t even let me get a job to help out with bills because he thinks I need to focus on school. But he’s working himself to the bone and making me unhappy in the process.” The raven haired teen hung his head and rubbed his palms over his tired face with a sigh.
Yuu pursed his lips into a thin line and shook his head. “I know I say it all the time, but why don’t you ever say any of this to him. I mean, I know it’s therapeutic to spout it all out to me but he’s the one who needs to hear it. I can only do so much, you know.”
Takanori nodded, feeling defeated. “I know, but he never listens to me. It’s almost like he’s in denial. He won’t admit that what he’s doing isn’t working and that he isn’t happy and neither am I. He’s just so fucking stubborn,” Takanori growled. Honestly, Takanori wished more than anything in the world that his brother would listen to him and understand where he was coming from; but he believed he was being too far-fetched when he thought of Kouyou actually listening to him.
With a roll of his eyes Yuu nudged his best friend with his foot, “Sounds like someone else I know.” Takanori grumbled a quiet ‘shut up’ as he swatted the foot away and scooted back a small fraction. “But seriously,” Yuu continued. “When was the last time you actually had a conversation with him? Not a fight, not you getting in trouble, not ‘hey how was work… good… ok bye’. Those things don’t count.”
Takanori bit the inside of his cheek and cast his eyes down to his hands where they lay in his lap. When he really thought about it he and Kouyou hadn’t had a decent conversation in weeks, maybe even a month or two. Surely that wasn’t healthy. “I don’t know how long it’s been,” the smaller of the two concluded in a quiet voice, but he was quick to defend himself. “But it’s not like I ever get a chance anyway. I mean, he’s always working or doing housework and cooking or something. He never has time for me.”
Yuu sighed and shook his head, “Taka, don’t kill me for saying this but… I think this is as much your fault as it is his.”
Takanori shot his best friend a slightly offended look and scrunched up his face. “What do you mean my fault? He’s the one never listens and ‘never has time’.” The red and black haired boy did a crappy impression of his brother’s voice and waved his hands in the air flippantly.
Yuu couldn’t help but chuckle but he then quickly returned being serious, “Taka, only just today when he called you to tell you that he wouldn’t be able to pick you up you snapped at him. You’re clearly not willing to talk.” Yuu had a point and he knew it; and he knew Takanori knew it as it. It was all a question of whether the prideful little pixie was willing to admit his faults. “You never listen to anything he says. Look, I know he has a funny way of doing things and looking out for you, but he’s always been like that. For as long as I’ve known both of you he’s always been a bit out there and odd. But I really believe that he’s trying his absolute best in the only way he knows how. Even if the only way he knows is a little different from the norm.” Takanori refused to look up as his friend but Yuu knew he was hearing everything. “Come on, Taka. You should know your own brother by now. Surely you don’t think he’s acting like this because he wants to piss you off.”
Takanori gave a slow nod and ran a hand through his disheveled hair. “I know… I know. It’s just, you know I’ve got a shitty temper and that plus Kou’s weirdness just doesn’t really work. Not to mention he’s got a pretty short temper as well and when we both go off sparks fly,” the smaller of the pair sighed. “How do I get him to listen to me?”
“Hmm…” Yuu pursed his lips and looked up at the ceiling, as if in deep thought. “I think your best bet is to just be firm with him. He’s still a young guy, you know? Technically he still is a young adult which means that you can’t just say something once and expect him to follow through. Order takeout, seeing as you can’t cook for shit, and sit him down, actually talk to him and tell him everything that you tell me. I can guarantee you he’s probably feeling pretty fucking insecure. He’s basically gotta raise a teenage kid on his own, do you know how stressful that could be for someone as young as him?”
Takanori nodded, “Alright. I’ll do that… but I’m still gonna stay here for a few days, just until he gets over the whole smoking thing, you know. He’ll be pissed for a while but he can’t hold a grudge for shit.” They both chuckled at the truth of the statement. If there was one thing Kouyou couldn’t do it was staying mad at his baby brother.
***
“That’s definitely a tough situation. But, you know, I believe that your brother really does care for you, he’s just got this thing called Being-A-Teenage-Boy-Itis,” Yutaka commented in a completely serious tone, as if her were a doctor giving a diagnosis. “It’s quite a common condition and it just means that he might have some difficulty communicating with you because most of the patients who suffer from it develop a severe allergic reaction to emotions.”
Kouyou couldn’t help but let out a rather loud, dorky laugh which he then covered with his palm; he hadn’t laughed like that in so long and yet here he was. He and Yutaka had been sitting at the same table in the same café for just over three hours and they’d talked through Kouyou and Takanori’s current situation. Kouyou had told him all about how he was the only one looking after his brother and how he often had to work over-time to be able to afford all of their expenses. He’d explained how he wanted to spend time with Takanori but he never had enough spare time and he’d expressed how worried he was for his younger sibling whenever the teenager went out on the weekend and didn’t come back until 4am the next morning. Kouyou wasn’t stupid, he knew his brother was out with Yuu, probably drinking and doing God-knows-what but there was nothing he could do from his cubicle at work and Yutaka’s simple answer had been to tell all of that to Takanori.
Yutaka grinned at Kouyou’s laughter, showing off his dimples and Kouyou was afraid that he was getting quite addicted to that smile of his. But he’d only just met the man, for Christ’s sake and there was no way he could get involved with his brother’s teacher anyway. And who was he to say that Yutaka was even gay to begin with?! There was a 99% chance that he probably wasn’t. Though, despite all of this, Kouyou found himself relaxed in the other man’s presence, far more relaxed than he had been in a long time, and he wanted to know more about the teacher; his hobbies, besides history, his likes and dislikes, his favourite movie, his least favourite food. Kouyou wanted to know who Yutaka was. But he knew he couldn’t. Getting involved with Takanori’s teacher would most definitely lead to unneeded drama between the brothers. But it’d been so long since he’d been close to anyone…
Kouyou was pulled from his chain of thought when Yutaka checked his watch and frowned slightly. “Ah, look at the time! I really better be going, I have a bunch of papers to grade.” Yutaka stood up, along with Kouyou who gave a shallow bow. “It was lovely talking with you and I hope you can sort everything out with Takanori. If I see him tomorrow I’ll be sure to tell him how worried you are.” Kouyou thanked Yutaka again and watched as the teacher rushed out the door of the café.
Well, there goes the most perfect human being Kouyou had ever met…
***
Kouyou hadn’t slept at all. Not even a wink. And it was with heavy bags under his eyes that he dragged himself into his cubicle the next morning and plonked down into his wheely-chair, almost falling off the side when he misjudged the placement of his backside. There was a fresh stack of papers on his desk as well as the ones from yesterday that he still had to process. Surely this wasn’t normal, how could any one human being suffer through so much work and come out alive? Kouyou was convinced that he must be Superman.
After switching on his computer and waiting for it too boot up, Kouyou almost jumped out of his skin when a hand slapped down on his shoulder. When he looked up he found his friend Akira beaming down at him. “Morning, Kouyou! You look like shit,” the blond chuckled.
The honey blond grumbled under his breath, “Shut up… How can you be so energetic, anyway? It’s 7 o’clock in the fucking morning… surely you’re not human.”
Akira chuckled and leaned his backside against the edge of Kouyou’s desk, folding his muscular arms over his chest. If Akira were gay, Kouyou was convinced that he would’ve jumped the tempting blond ages ago. But alas, Kouyou often had the worst luck when selecting a partner because Akira was happily married and had an adorable little girl. But that didn’t stop the honey blond from having his fantasies, even though he knew he’d never ever make a move on Akira in a thousand years because that would just be weird.
“You’re so uptight, Kou,” Akira mused as he picked up a piece of paper from one of the nearby stacks, examining it with lazy curiosity. “Seriously, when was the last time you got laid?”
Kouyou rolled his eyes and logged onto his computer, bringing up the file reports from yesterday and pulling up his first piece of paper. “I don’t know, Aki,” he huffed as his fingers started speedily tapping away on the keyboard. “Maybe six months or more.”
“Six months or more?!” Akira questioned in utter horror as he dropped the paper in his hand and gaped at Kouyou. “Do I even wanna know when your last relationship was?”
“Second last year of high school,” Kouyou stated plainly, not even bothering to look up at the blond who was apparently about to have conniption. “It’s not really like I have time, you know. I have work and Takanori. Besides, some people can go for years without having sex,” Kouyou added blandly.
“Yeah, old people and hermits!” Akira exclaimed. The loud blond placed his hands on his friend’s shoulders in order to turn him away from the computer and have his full attention. “Kouyou, seriously man, you need to get out. Meet people, socialize. You know, all that normal stuff.”
“I do socialize,” Kouyou stated.
“I mean with someone other than me, your brother and your right hand.” Kouyou was really starting to have the urge to kill that blond. Akira suddenly snapped his fingers in front of Kouyou’s face, obviously having just gotten an idea. “I know!” He exclaimed. “Makiko has a brother who’d be perfect for you! He’s funny, entertaining, he can hold a conversation, and he’s great fun to be around. How about dinner with him this Friday?” Akira didn’t bother waiting for an answer before he slapped Kouyou’s shoulders, “That’s perfect!”
“Sorry. Can’t.” Kouyou deadpanned.
“Huh?!” Akira’s jaw dropped. “Why the hell not?”
“Because I’ll be working over-time then, you know I always do on Fridays; that’s the only way I can possibly get Saturday off,” Kouyou almost whined. “I really can’t go out then, even if I wanted to… which I don’t, really.”
“You’re not working over-time, Kou,” Akira stated matter-of-factly. “I’m gonna pick up any extra work you’ve got then so you can go out. Don’t worry, I got your back, man,” the blond slapped his friend’s shoulder. Kouyou scrunched up his face. He really didn’t want to go out on a blind date. In fact, he really didn’t want to go out at all. It’d been so long since he’d actually been out on the town and had a good time and he doubted he’d be anything but boring to whoever Akira’s brother-in-law was. Akira noticed the honey blond’s apprehension and sighed, hanging his head almost dejectedly. “Come on, Kou. Please, please just go out with him once. You might actually enjoy yourself. You honestly can’t keep yourself cooped up in this office forever, that’s not healthy.”
Kouyou sighed, Akira did have a point. As far as he was aware, regular human interaction was a common thing that most healthy people did. He could see the worry in Akira’s face every time he said he’s be working late again. He knew Akira saw how tired and rundown he was all the time and he knew Akira only wanted to help. Which is why he eventually gave a slow defeated nod, “…Fine, I’ll… I’ll go on the date.”
Akira’s head snapped up in the most comical way and he leapt into the air with a loud ‘woohoo’. Kouyou even cracked a smile at his friend’s silly antics. In a rush, Akira told Kouyou he’d speak to his wife, Makiko, when he got home and they’d make all the bookings and everything; Kouyou didn’t have to worry about a thing, all he had to do was be ready to go at 7pm on Friday night. Once the hyperactive blond was gone Kouyou couldn’t help but let his mind flick to Yutaka and he felt a slight sinking feeling in his stomach. For some reason he felt almost as if he were betraying the brunet teacher, but that was totally stupid. All they’d done was spoken for a few hours. It wasn’t like they were dating or anything ridiculous like that. Kouyou was just letting his imagination run off on him again. With a sigh he turned back to his computer and started entering the figures like he did every other day of his life. Everything was back to normal with Akira gone, except for the slight giddy feeling in his gut.
“A blind date, huh…?” He mused, smiling slightly.
