We have a lot of black bears in our area, and occasional grizzlies as well. I rarely get photos of them though, since I'm usually too busy calming down the hysterical dogs or herding them frantically into the house.

This morning I came downstairs early, and Scott and all the dogs were still asleep, so I was able to get some pics of this fat little ( Read more... )

I'm insanely jealous of the environment you live in. I'm a city girl at heart, but bears in your back yard? Crazy. I love it.

Its pretty cool most of the time, although we've had our share of scary bear (and moose) moments. this little dude was so ridiculously cute, I had to really remind myself that I needed to treat him as cautiously as any other (larger) bear. In other words...*NOT* open the door and squeeze his adorable chubby cheeks like I really wanted too!

My uncle lives on top of a mountain and he has bears come to visit. The only time they don't seem to stop by is when I come up to stay with him. Everyone has seen the bear but me. See a lot of deer though and they usually run off by the time I get the camera out.

Nice shots!

Well...I suppose you could do what we did, and accidentally spill some dogfood outside his house next time you're there!

**(KIDDING!!!! Its a bad thing!)**

That WAS what this bear was after though...dogfood under the porch.(facepalm)

Well, when they visit his house they're in the garbage or in the deer feeders. He's had to replace them a few times. LOL

Yeah bad, I know but I wouldn't mind seeing it once from the safety of the house. I take his dog with me when I go walking and I don't go far. They have been known to be out in the day and I can't run walking with a cane.
