The view from my front deck. Yup...I'd say we broke that late snowfall record all right.

Okay, that .... that is just not right. Beautiful, but JUST NOT RIGHT.

It's not quite that bad here -- we got enough snow to stick, but it's not really too much to walk through, just enough to make everything look like winter again. And it's 23 degrees. And windy.

*cries*

Right up until about 7PM last night I still had delusions of MAYBE doing my outdoor Market booth today. HAHAHAHA! yeah right. Scott and I sat down this morning to discuss back-logged projects to spend our unplanned weekend "off" doing...and kept coming up with ideas that, uh-oh, now needed to WAIT TILL THE SNOW MELTED! AAAARGGGHHH!

This makes our inch of snow look paltry! And yes, it's pretty but UGH.

Good weekend for a book or a movie.

That is a very worthy use of a weekend like this.

Yes...our poor, poor bees! They came in (by mail) in late April. We've been feeding them a ton of sugar water and leftover honey from last year, but we cant figure out any way to warm them up. This is our 4th season keeping bees and we've NEVER had this problem before.

Alaskans are always told not to start planting outside until Memorial day weekend. At this rate though...even that might be too soon! I'm so jealous of your gardening!

We might give that a try. We though of covering the hives with blankets, but were a little concerned about smothering them.

We've really enjoyed our beekeeping! Last year we finally got enough honey to brew mead and honey beer. I'm always amazed at how docile domestic honeybees are...we keep our hives right on the deck near the door, and no one has ever been stung. My dogs have even stuck their silly heads right into the hive when they were open, and were fine.

The link above goes to a post on my sheepdog club website from a few years ago with pics of that!

Ahhh...winter wonderland. Glad we have seasons hre on the East coast because I would hate to have snow much of the time.

Stay warm!
