It is wrong that DC doesn't have a voting member of Congress. I live in DC. A lot of young, idealistic, do-gooder types live in DC. A fair amount of rich white folks live in DC too. we don't disagree, but re paragraph two i think your language gives away ground too readily: even if one were to concede the question of constitutionality, the belief that the vote is "not constitutional" is not an argument against granting DC residents the vote. it's an excuse for not doing something about it with the current legislation. after all, congress could draft an amendment to clear all this up if they really wanted to.
