Artwork: Original

Well... here is my first ever digital drawing. I took one of my hand sketches and paint shopped the hell out of it, and I'm actually quite proud of it  :DDD It took me 2 days to digitise, but I can't remember how long it took me to draw the picture originally.
Comments are much appreciated as I'm always wanting to improve :)

This is very nice! I am really intrigued by the red character (demon) love the toenails, the horns, the black wings, just the overall look and your wings on the angel character is really good, so well detailed! I am curious what is meant by the demon and angel embracing?

Thank you, I'm very pleased you like it ^.^
I am quite proud of the angel wings myself :)

The reason is, they are characters in a story I was writing a while back, where the angel was offered to the demon to prevent a war and they end up falling in love, bit odd but it was fun to write and I love the two characters.

How intriging, that an angel would fall in love with a demon!

Did the angel stay an angel?

Hehe, yeah the angel stayed an angel, but then I never got round to finishing the story, lol. And the demon has to teach the angel to fly 'cause it was created and never told how to.

Its interesting to see that you removed the original lines when colouring it.
When I do digital, or, rather, when I'll attempt to do so, I'd rather do lineart and then do cell shading into it.
But I do have to say this is a far better job then most beginning attempts at digital art (hell, better then mine) and so I have to give this the thumbs up. Of course there is plenty of room for improvement, but I'm sure you know that and I can only praise this. The shading is very promising. =^.^=

Yeah I've never done a picture without lines before, and I wanted to give it a try. I was aiming for as realistic as I could, as realistic as an angel and demon can be, that is, lol.
I really like your cat/snake art; it's so much better than this pic.
Yeah, always room for improvement. The part I'm not so keen on is the body colouring and shading, but I'm not sure how to improve it :S

Once you have the theory down its all down to the "tricks of the trade".
With that I mean abusing the poor art program with use of superior knowlege in order to make the shading look awesome. Putting in "coloring tutorial" into deviantart should give you a slew of interesting material!

Hehe, think that's where I'm lacking; superior knowledge, lol.
Thanks for the tip, I shall give it a try and hope it helps me to improve :)
