So, this is my first time drawing Castiel, and also my first time trying to draw a realistic person (as in not from my imagination and not from a cartoon or anime) and I'm SO pleased with it. It took between 3 and 4 days I think. Comments and critique are greatly appreciated :) Also if anyone has any tips on how to draw stubble that would be ( Read more... )

Wow.

That is great. If I cud draw as half as well as that I'd be pleased. I love the eyes, they look so real, I find them so difficult to draw. w

Was this done with photoshop?

Yay, thank you very much! :D To be honest I'm not that great an artist, I was so surprised it came out this well, LOL. I like the eyes too. I was pleased with how they came out, he has such lovely eyes. I find the hardest thing to draw are hands, thankfully none in this pic :P

Yeah it's all done on PS from start to finish. I was thinking of uploading the WIP pictures of it too.

Awesome. Hands are bitches to draw, I spend ages on them and they still look deformed in some way when I finish.

Yes please put up some WIP pics so complete art imbeciles such as myself can try and work out how to draw things that look like what I am trying to draw.

Same here, the only time I remotely get hands right is when I have a reference picture of exactly the angle I want, LOL and even then very rarely do I get them right.

Well I'm not sure how much help my WIPs will be, but I'll have a fiddle with them so they're in some kind of order (threre are 9) and then post them in my journal. I'll reply again when they're up if ya like :)

Thank you so much! And thank you for the tutorial :) His stubble is really the only thing I'm not satisfied with in this drawing, so thanks.

Indeed it is :D It makes me so proud that you think that about how I've drawn his hair, and lol that you think it looks too real, it was what I was aiming for but didn't think I'd manage to achieve :)
So thank you very much =^.^=

WOW, that is really nice. Is that a "real" picture or a rendering? If you drew that or did it with a graphics program you did an awesome job. He looks so handsome and so serious. I hope you don't mind but I saved a copy to use as my Windows background. If you mind let me know and I will delete it. Thanks, Nice job!

*squee* No of course I don't mind, I LOVE that you want to use it as your background!! :D
It is a real picture, I drew it all out using my tablet in Photoshop, I don't know the first thing about rendering LOL.
And thank you very much :D
