Wow! Wonderful work, and one very sexy-looking garment! (Betcha your hubby appreciates that! ;-> )

And omigosh, you are so brave to work with pleather! I would love to be so bold and adventuresome---can you tell I'm convinced that pleather is scary and difficult (and that I'm an ol' stick-in-the-mud?)

So, is it?

Your corset is so SMOOTH on the outer surface! No evidence of steel (or heavy-duty or even light-duty duct ties or cable ties) whatsoever. How did you accomplish that?

The zip tie boning I used is almost all encased in the seam allowances on the layer of canvas, but facing the wrong side of the pleather. There is one on either side, in the middle of the largest panel. (I also used a waist tape)
I also tried really hard to make sure the two layers would be flat against each other when taut around the body. Basically just tried to make sure they were about the same size, and the seams matched up, when I basted them together.
Chris hasn't seen it yet... ;-)

LOL We almost had a Scottish themed Wedding...but my b.i.l. refused to wear a kilt. :-[
