ok, so i've just finished it and immediately ran here to see what you had to say. i knew it would be worth it.
GOD THAT WAS BAD. and me being all alone and depressed myself. you've got the imagery dead-on, it's what my brain was screaming the whole time. THE BELLS OH GOD. the whole end scene is SO TRAUMATIZING it's perfect. and i never say that.
misa's song killed me. that last line: but what happens if heaven's doors are closed to me?
i don't see any slashiness (but that's my "i'm gonna be better than slashiness, nuuhhh" brain working on overtime, i know where people are going to get it) in the foot washing scene. BUT GOD it was beautiful. i agree with you; i think they did love one another. it was so affectionate, and i think each of them hated a little part of themselves for it, but...it can't be helped. GOD i love and hate and i don't know what else that episode.
