Obscurity, yay

It was time for another totally obscure animated icon to be made. I'm pretty sure it was a Firesign Theatre skit (really hilarious radio comedy group -- I cannot recommend highly enough what are arguably their two best albums, "Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers" and "How Can You Be In Two Places At Once If You're Not Anywhere At All") that ( Read more... )

I figure they're trying to say we're all either one of the three or all of the them. And from the LJ's I've perused and the people I've seen here, yeah, we're all one of the three. :D

Oh, I concur. Everyone here is at least one of them. I know for a fact that I'm all three, and more besides.

*as an afterthought, also raises the flag of Jimengard, just because*

Speaking of which, OMG! Someone on the Fanart100 challenge has claimed Dresden Files and they've just started posting. Bob! And another 97 pieces of Dresden art to come! *drools*

*laugh* And you just made me realize I need to redraw my mini me proclaiming "FORWARD FOR JIMENGARD!" and make an icon out of it. But what should the banner of Jimengard have on it?

Oh, I know nothing about the minutiae of Hel and the Norse Underworld, I assure you. Or human botflies. Or gene splicing. Or surrealism and the Dada movement. Or Margaret Bourke-White. Or Dune -- nothing at all about Dune, its strange Romany-Arabic hybrid languges, the parallels between it and the history of the Middle East, the philosophical and socio-political ramifications of messianism. Nothing at all.

I also am not reading that Incomplete Education book straight through. Nah. I didn't read The Double Helix while in Biology, either, or Lies My Teacher Told Me while in U.S. History (and I CERTAINLY didn't make a stab at reading the Federalist Papers).

Piffle, I say.

(I blame it all on you. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!! WHY YOU RUIN MY LIFE MOTHER!!!)

You do that.

And I will most certainly not go to my own lonely corner of the house and read the collected writings of T.E. Lawrence (which you are also most certainly not allowed to call me perverted for reading!).

Nah, it's love, really. Tough love - but what kind of love isn't. XD

I have to admit, I too love Baldwin from that film. He was the best part of the entire thing, the only part of it I truly loved. I love how handsome he was all through it, if that makes sense. There was something in his voice, and that mask... he seemd almost beautiful. I felt very sad when he died.
Wonderful, wonderful actor playing a wonderful part. I must look him up myself at some point. And I will be looking at that com.

I agree entirely. I was really astounded when I found out that Edward Norton played Baldwin; I had simply never thought of Norton in contexts much different from Fight Club or Italian Job... but going back on the DVD now I can tell that it's his voice. But, just, wow. Between V and Baldwin I'm really starting to appreciate the talent it takes to act without the use of any skin at all -- no face, no hands, muffled voice, barely-visible eyes. And yet, both characters are just wonderful and haunting ( ... )

I saw the vertion they showed at teh cinimas, not the directors cut. The film itself didn't impresse me that much, but as I said I did love Baldwin ( ... )

EDIT: I mean the film of Kingdoms of Heaven, just to clarify that last paragraph.
