Swiped from tiggymalvern's journal, as I've been attempting to do some catchup reading on my f-list recently. Plus I've gone on a Trigun nostalgia binge since I just bought volume 14 of TriMax, and Tiggy's still one of my fave V/W authors. Even though I had already read the entire manga through scans, actually owning the published set of the entire series just makes it feel like it's really over. And that makes me sad. Sad like Wolfwood and Vash sitting on that damn couch. ;_;

And I'm just saying, to those "why can't two guys just be friends?" lamenters out there, look beyond slash to the personalities I see as attractive to each other. I see slash in a pretty distinct set of relationship dynamics; in any of these cases, were one partner female, no fan or critic would deny that the sexual tension is through the roof. I am about as far as you can get from wearing slash goggles, as there are reams of characters that I can't imagine being sexual at all, much less being gay for the sake of the gay and for no other reason. (I see where some fans have gotten the idea of Locke/Ben in Lost, but... ewwwwwwww. It's like Harry/Draco to me. I don't understand it, and I DO NOT WANT.)
In other news, UP was funny, clever, sweet and so damn depressing that I cried more during the first ten minutes than I have cried at any movie in a long time.
