For April fools we stole our teachers attendance book and hid it! He was freaking out! Of course we used our ninja skills during break and put the book on his chair! XD

As Kataang fans are so fond of misquoting, that interview said that Katara and Aang's relationship was in the DNA of the series. Relationship does not always mean romance, and in this specific case, Katara has become more of a mother figure to Aang than a potential girlfriend.

You know, I've thought about that a lot. People, upon reading that interview, freaked out about that "DNA" line, as if it means that Kataang is automatically canon because of what was said. I always thought that was a bit ambiguous, because, as you've said, relationship doesn't only refer to romance.

Katara is an important person in Aang's life, therefore, their relationship would be important and part of the DNA of the storyline. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're going to have a beautiful kiss scene at the end of the series, does it?

I'm glad to find another person who noticed that little detail. :)
