That is so cool! Not only are they getting to see a type of lava/eruption that has only been seen in long extinct volcanoes, they can get within feet of the eruption, instead of miles. And they resemble the volcanic forces that formed the seabed in the first place!
I was enjoying the bit about microorganisms that could survive in acidity as strong as stomach acid. Well, the microorganisms in our stomach manage it, so there is precedence :)
I bet there'll be a documentary released in the near future on Nature or something similar ^_^
